OK Toots, you ready for this? The following is PUI.

I have spent the afternoon lying in a bubble bath, with candles around the tub, a bottle of Alice Walker Chard in an ice bucket, drinking from crystal, eating a chicken caesar salad, lying back with my 17" widescreen laptop resting at a safe distance on an ottaman, with of bowl of chocolate truffles on the side, watching "FIRE" for the first time by Deepa Mehta, part of her "Earth, Fire, Water trilogy". I watched "Water" a couple of weeks ago; am getting Earth next.
"Fire" is quite a controversial movie, the first of its kind from India with this subject matter. Came out years ago, but I just got around to watching it. I'm hooked on the Indian cause.
I know this doesn't fit into the realm of movies you've been watching, but I'm dying to discuss intellectual, foreign and independent films.
Do I have your blessing to start a new thread?
It was a grayt way to spend a rainy cold saturday afternoon. I came out shriveled AND enlightened. And buzzed after finishing a bottle in mid afternoon. Out of character for me, and yet I deserved every minute of it.

First I'm going to take a nap and sleep this one off. Heading for New Orleans tomorrow for a day trip. First time since the Big K. I was there days before and have only been to Biloxi since. OK, I'm going to couch...
more later....

I've also just discovered the joy of eating freshly baked Big Deluxe White Chunk Macadamia Nut Cookies with a glass of Chard while listening to Hugh Jackmon sing the soundtrack of The Boy From Oz, with a log blazing in the fireplace and my fingers blazing across the keyboard starting cat fights (but alas, did I hear a compromise) in yet another thread?

There.

How's that for a run on sentence?

And why is it I can spell drunk and Bobby J can't spell sober?

Just kidding Bobby J, love ya mean it.

I'm going to miss the Screen Actor's Guild (or SAG for short) awards Sunday night. Not to be confused with the Film Actors Guild
(or gay for short) as made popular in the movie
Team America (f*ck yeah!) World Police.
All this talk about wanting intelligent conversation and I just finished watching the end of a Comedy Central special with Lisa Lampanelli. She accomplished what Andrew Dice Clay couldn't. Cracks me up.
I'm going to have to rent that as well and watch the whole show.
OK, maybe now I'm off to bed. A few hours late.

IWIWT: Great movie to be part of! What was her role? We sure loved that movie -- the whole family laughed and laughed and laughed...

She was called to be one of 300 extras, then asked to be paparazzi(sp?). She was dressed in a white shirt and black pants. Nothing big, but still had a good time and fun seeing herself on the big screen.

I love the Sound of Music.
Tootsie you were right about Pirates of the Caribbean II (dead man's chest.)

I loved Johnny Depp. I swear he can do no wrong. However.

The beginning and the ending were okay, but the middle dra-a-ag-g-e-d.
Maybe it will be like the Back to the Future trilogy: I loved the first and third films, but really did not care much for the second.

Just read a cute story about Johnny Depp. This guy's cousin waited at some door for Depp to come out so she could get his autograph. Apparently the cousin is very petite and the crowd sort of jostled her to the back. Depp noticed this and motioned to her to wait. After he finished signing autographs, he went to the cousin asked her if she would like a photo of the two of them--which of course she did. She got an autograph as well as a nice photo of herself and Johnny.
