I should get together with my Bill's niece (in Grapevine) and we could come and help you out! You're biting off a lot here but certain you of all people can do it ... what a loving and funn person you are.

PM me and fill me in on date times so I can see if I can work something out, IF you would want any help.

.
RITA...this is amazing!!! How funn would that be!
DD...I think next you should do a SoWal day!
Hook up a computer and we could each talk to your "guests".... I am sure we would all learn some wonderful things! Of course...you would have a jail break...they would ALL be heading for SoWal!!!! :D

DD, I just hope that they don't get so into the Mardi Gras mindset that they show their hooters to get more beads. Scary!

DD: sounds like this party is very well planned! Thanks for including us in on the funn.

I have one little suggestion: ask a staff or friend who is good with the camera to document the party with individual and group shots (the residents will love being photographed). Then make a festive bulletin board with the pick of the photos, using some of the beads, masks, etc. The residents will enjoy it for months to come (and maybe not forget about it so quickly!).

I love this party! Good luck!

Thanks Toots. Our Director of Nurses has a bulletin board that she posts pics on regularly...good idea about the decorations!! I will for sure take pics and post some here.

Have them do a second-line. Tell them to dress in purple/green/gold.

Make sure no one swallows the plastic Baby Jesus in the King Cake.

Dixie Beer?

When my daughter was in first grade, I threw a Mardi Gras party for her class. (Most people are clueless about Mardi Gras around here. I helped her explain the meaning of the colors, 12th Night, Ephiphany, parades, etc., to her class.) From Oriental Trading I ordered a quantity of 12 masks and beads for her class. Well, that was 12 gross. She went to a small private school (graduating class of 12), so I had enough beads and masks to do a Mardi Gras party for them from 1st through 12th grade!:rotfl:
I'm listening to the first music suggestion from BR and you should make sure you get this for your resident's Mardi Gras party! Wow! Really makes you feel like you're right on Bourban Street. This music will be lots of funn for sure!
