We're still calling that a presidency? I thought he was just babysitting us for 8 years.

Were you referring to Clinton yearsor George W years, just need a clarification on that one???

It will 'be time for a woman to be President' when there is a woman worth voting for.

:yikes::yikes::yikes:as if it's been equal ground for women in PolitricKs. We, woman, had to die for even the right to vote.
How about a little respect for women even if you don't like the one running!!!

I have plenty of respect for women. Duh, I am a woman. That does not translate for a vote for someone who happens to be female. In this election , there just happens to be others that happen to be men that I like more.

You are assuming a vote for anybody other than Hillary means disrespect for women. You are assuming wrong. Thankfully most of us are looking beyond gender.

Get your poms poms back on and go for it.

why do you care for his judgement, if, at this late date,he still thinks Iraq was a good move? I'm curious! His chiding of Romney with the change comment and the accompanying facial expressions seemed childlike and not of the caliber of a seasoned statesman. Is McCain in step with his party on illegal immigration? McCain's demeanor appears to be inflexible, arrogant, and reminiscent of an older GW......and I say this as someone who would consider voting for the man.

Bob,....as I said , I don't agree with McCain on this issue. As far as his chiding Romney in the debate, I like when a candidate defends himself vigorously when his record has been distorted. You prove my point about his character and integrity.....I applaud his difference on immigration with some consevative Republicans, I believe he is right and realistic on this issue. Perhaps you mistake inflexibility for principle and arrogance for self confidence. I have never heard or read of anyone referring to John McCain as arrogant. If anything he is concilliatory and a uniter. I don't quite comprehend your comparing McCAin to an "older" GW.

I had to reread Skunky's post to understand what you were talking about. I think I misread his statement originally. At first, I thought he meant that when the right candidate is a woman, he would vote for her, but that is not at all what he wrote. I wonder if he actually meant what he typed or if he meant it another way. :dunno:

When I saw this I thought, ya know, there's plenty of women who could've done a hell of a lot better than half the men president's if they were ever given the opportunity. If they weren't home washin', cleanin', and cookin', and raisin' babies for these Prtesidents. So to hear a statement like this just hurts bad. I feel  for women when I heard that, as if we were beneath men somehow in intelligence, and I, for one, am not going to sit there quietly. I'll get my dern megaphone if I have to! :D

I'm not saying you don't have respect, and your vote is respected by me, whoever you vote for. I am not assuming anything. I just found the above statement very insulting, but then I'm not personal friends with skunkape. I just expected more, somehow, even as a message board friend. You mean, you didn't find that statement just a wee bit insulting as a woman, Let's say you never met the person saying it. :dunno: Sorry if I'm too sensitive. I'm sure it was probably not meant the way I took it but I wish people would be more sensitive to statements like that. I have daughters who I  and respect, and I know you do too, gull. There could be young gulls reading that sheeet.

Perception is in the eye of the beholder, so I accept your views. You may be right. I believe the guy that keeps his cool looks best when running for President. I do not believe support of current immigration law is a liberal/conservative Repub issue. America has been overrun from our southern border for 20 plus years now, and I would say the average American wants a stop to the inaction on this issue. McCain is out of step with his party, and I suspect, average Americans. That McCain is from Arizona, demonstrates Latino vote pandering and not character and integrity. He's no different than any other Senator-for-life. My view of him being an older GW is his missing the 800 lb. gorilla in the room called IRAQ. It takes character to admit you are horribly wrong, and I would think his time in Vietnam would make him reflect on another monumental waste of a war. His calling card is "I'm a war hero", so that will never happen. I believe that's putting ego before country. I've known men who were POWs, and they never considered themselves anything other than extremely unlucky to have been captured. To a man, they were all anti-war. Not so with McCain.

Or rather than pandering it is a realistic understanding of the underpinnings of the economy.

I live in Arizona and McCain does not pander. Besides, how can an illegal vote in an election ? He normally gets over 60% of the vote. As far as immigration being apolitical, it was you that stated McCain was out of step with his "fellow republicans". Of course this is a national issue that should transcend party politics. His policy is to secure the borders first but you tell me what you think....should we deport 12-15 million illegals ? And what of their children born here.....do we deport American citizens also ? And what does "go to the back of the line" really mean ? This is a very complex issue but it will be resolved in time.

I have cast my fair share of votes for women, just never for President. Again, I tell you that when a woman worth my vote runs for President, she will enjoy my support.
