So, Obama's supposed to annouce his run for the candicacy tomorrow. There's lots of speculation as to whether or not he has enough experience (8 in state, 2 in national). I can understand that. I can kind of understand people being uncomfortable with a man who's father is Muslim, especially now a days (I don't agree, I'm just saying!).

But here's my limit.

"Could a Smoker Be President?" is what CNN was just running. They're talking about how Obama being a smoker could point to other idosyntric tendancies (I hope I spelled that correctly. WHERE'S MOLLY!?!?! I CAN"T SPELL!!) that have not surfaced yet.

Okay, seriously. I'm a smoker. I'm okay with admitting it! I'm addicted. But as far as I'm aware, that does not make me any less able to do certain things as others. I know that the world is taking a harsher turn on smoking (like the push to make any movie that shows smoking R rated) but SERIOUSLY? The man's supposedly less able to be president because of smoking?!?! He's trying to quit. That's a whole lot more than I can say. Doesn't that make him a little more human?

I swear, these political analysts act like they've never done anything crazy.

It might actually work for him. In that, the country has recently elected an alleged former cocaine addict and draft dodging alcoholic, with a current self-righteous addiction to religion, not once but twice.

Tobacco addiction may actually swing a few conservative votes his way. Now if the left can come up with a counter to our favorite propaganda spewing, painkiller gulping, radiohead.

However, on a more serious note, he is one of the most articulate politicians to have graced the senate in a very long time. I am most interested in hearing his ideas, not necessarily his habits. Although I would prefer my kids not observe an otherwise great role model smoking.

And so what if his father was muslim. There is nothing wrong with muslims. Muslim extremist on the other hand are a different story.

Just like there is nothing wrong with Christians. However Christian extremists can be quite dangerous. Like the KKK.

The actual Muslim religion is strict true, but peaceful and nonviolent.
Just a thought.

Yes, in this area, we work side by side & attend school with Muslims and never think another thought about it.
