Silly gull. Beautiful pearls do NOT belong in banks. Have them re-created into something daring. BB's pearls are really contemporary and quite striking. I know it sounds sacreligious to unstring them (on a side note, I saw the Mikimoto jewelers at work when I was in Japan ancient years ago) but jewelry designers are doing fabulous things now with pearls!
Who could redesign them? Certainly no one in this hick town. They are so expensive that it's a shame not to wear them. Should I take them to my favorite salesperson Ginger at NM fine jewelry?

Perfect for snuggling a baby with a cold.
Doesn't fit my lifestyle either. I get up at the butt crack of dawn to get a parking spot that's not a mile away from my building, wait for the dog to go potty, forget the shower because waiting for the dog took too long, slap on a little makeup, throw on some jeans and a jacket to make me look "professional," no time to put on underwear, grabbing the closest pair of earrings, and I'm off to work.

Just go nekkid and let her dress you.

Great idea!:shock: I'm hoping she will design a pink gown for me!

I want this one:

And this one:

(If there happen to be any extras lying around at the trunk show.)

I love her dresses, she designs for ''REAL'' women, not those skinny 16 year old models.

BB, whatever you wear, you have to wear your pearls. No one wears pearls as well as you do.

Sent you a pm, trying to decide which ones.....

As you know Mermy, I wear my stuff, what good is it if you can't enjoy it?

Thanks gulls for all the input, this will be funn! Guess what....I'm now picking her up at her hotel (it's closer to my house) and she is riding with me to my friends! This gives me time to talk her into that fabulous pink ball gown! LOL, she will be tired of hearing about pink by the time we get there and consent! ;-)

 Hmmm ...

-- Avoid v-necks in case 18 month old tries to grab on to neckline, thus revealing your bra. I make this mistake every other day  but it's because I really like my necklace that looks good with a V-neck! (*stomps foot not encased in Prada boot*)

2 things- make sure you are wearing a bra, and that it is halfway clean and maybe even pretty since you know at least several strangers will see it throughout the day!!

Hey BB- have fun with Kay. Get her likkered up, then drag out a laptop and register her on SoWal.:D She'll need a good screen name.

I love that red dress!!! Where is the closest Kay Unger seller to Sowal?

Wear an outfit that reflects your personality and flair, but I wouldn't wear a designer's own clothes to dinner with her.

I wonder if there's a "rule of etiquitte" about a situation like this. Do you wear a designer's clothing as a tribute and acknowledgement, or is that interpreted as being fawning? I'm sure there has to be some guideline out there. After all, it's not like designers don't go to parties all the time. What's a good guest to do?
