I'm all over this!!! The water has made a slow and steady improvement since last week. I do have some questions...where did all the rocks come from? Kids have been building forts with them...and then using their crab nets as guns as they play GI JOe...love watching their ingenuity!! Some of these rocks are very slimey. This next story of nature was a bit disturbing to poor me...yesterday afternoon there were TONS of minnows at the shoreline and some species of larger fish splashing like mad eating them...it went on forever! The girls (me especially) were scooping the minnows up off the beach and tossing them back in the water...unfortunately to probably be eaten. The boys were picking up the stranded minnows and playing catch with them. Ahhh...the differences between the sexes!! So, what was that phenomenon?
This was also happening on the beach in front of Watercolor. There were thousands of ladyfish crashing the baitfish at the shoreline for hours. We were casting spoons and DOA shrimp to them and letting our kids reel the fish in. We hooked up on almost every cast. Several of the kids, 6 and 7 years old, proclaimed it the "best day ever at the beach". It was a blast.

We were down there in August in Seacrest Beach and each morning I saw more rays and dolphins then I have seen in the last 6 years. Nothing that beats these pictures though. The water is beautiful and I am jealous as hell. I have to wait until next August to get back down there.

I saw that same sunset from Seagrove (near Dothan walkover) on Sunday. Brought my digicam, hoping to see it the way Kurt might. Failed miserably. :D

It was a special evening. My 2 y.o. finally started liking the sand (he is such a little priss) and my 5 y.o. clambered all over the place -- loved the little "hills" created by new sand being pushed up onto the beach. He wanted to watch the sunset in hopes of seeing the green flash I'd told him about. Of course we didn't (I've never seen it myself). He also wanted to climb up the dunes and of course I said no, and told him why: They protect the beach and the houses, etc. Then he asked me why there were two grownups sitting in the middle of the dunes in Adirondack chairs. :sosad: Can't put anything past a 5 year old. Note to adults: The kids are watching you!

The beach looked beautiful, far better than I expected and nicer than over near Seacrest/Rosemary.

The weather in Cleveland is mid to lower 60's and partly cloudy. Not too bad for this time of the year. Figure we have 1 more month of this then the snow starts. Once it is on the ground I will post pictures of what it is like up here so everyone can feel bad for me because I am not at the beach.
