If you have a doctor that can't see you for 2 months and you are sick, you need to find a new doctor.

Agreed. This is also happening to a friend of mine and has been going on for about the same amount of time. Almost everything she eats bothers her but especially fatty or heavy foods. They suspect it is her gallbladder. She has had an ultrasound and will be going for a CT scan tomorrow. At this point it looks like she probably will have to have her gallbladder out. This is not something that can be fixed with an over the counter remedy.

Apparently since she is a female 35-45 years of age, she is a prime candidate for gall bladder attacks.

Not trying to worry you ladyD -- gall bladder surgery is less invasive than ever and not really a major deal. That may not be your issue, but you should have a doctor rule it out right away. Be very forceful to the person who makes the appointments (esp if it is causing you great pain and recently started). They always have appointments for those who need it. Otherwise find another doctor ASAP. Let us know how everything goes!

OK, I know I shouldn't do this and I know I'm sure to regret making this post. But here goes...

Ladyd (and anyone else), please post whatever you want and ask for the help you feel you may need. This forum has been a tremendous help to most of us at some time or another for whatever our needs may be.

None of us are here to post for another's pleasure or preference. Sometimes a little help for one person helps a lot of others. That's a nice feeling in my book.

Someone please slap me now before I get out of hand.

Peppermint is good for a burning tummy and, if combined with chocolate, good for your heart and soul. Peppermint tea for those who are counting calories. As for the other problems, I agree with the gallbladder suggestion. Have had several friends with these same symptoms. After their gallbladders were removed (with chopsticks, I think), no problemo.

Not to be disrespectful, but exercise is really important for strengthening the muscles in the back and neck so that we don't have such pains. When my back and neck get stiff in our rainy days, I am especially inclined to doing my weight lifting exercise machines at the gym, followed by a good soak in the hot tub and a steam room visit after. The latter also works wonders for sinus conditions, which can cause neck and facial discomfort. Those big Theraflu eucalyptus pills for your shower are also great, on your pharmacy shelves. Hours of sitting in front of a computer or at a desk result in contortions that would horrify any chiropractor or surgeon. Same with those sexy high heels, girls...the Manolos that give birth to tomorrow's varicose veins.

This morning's paper contained an article about how stressful the holidays are, particularly for women. I have one friend who throws an annual holiday party for "girls only" in recognition of this. We are asked to bring no gifts (that would necessitate choosing, wrapping, carding, etc.), to have at least one of her holiday-featured froo-froo cocktails upon arrival, to eat all of the dessert because the buffet offered healthy choices. Then she gives us all a fabulous goodies bag filled with things that make us smile and/or relax: bath gel or massage cream, the latest cosmetic wonder, a sparkly something, or even a wonderfully cozy (and decidedly un-sexy) flannel nightshirt one year. I never miss this party, but you could also throw your own. Chase everyone out of the house, light a fire, play the corniest Christmas tunes you can find (you'll get those on that cable channel, by the way), give yourself a facial and a hot bath with bubbles or oil, then curl up and read until you fall asleep. Tell the family they are on their own for dinner that night and stick with it. Warning: The last suggestion could become a habit. If so, good for you in lots of ways.

The moral of this story: You can't ride two horses with one ass, ladies!

Wondering what people on here do for their problems with things like your stomach burning so bad that it feels like a knife being jabbed all the way through to your back, in other words, inflamed stomach or gastritis. Not to mention my other issues. Inflammation in my entire back, swelling on the back of my neck above my spine. Sinuses I can deal and live with, not the other. You name it, it bothers me. So tired of this.

I personally feel like this is a question you should be asking a doctor. If you can't get in to see your own doctor, then I would be finding a new doctor. Why would you not go to a doctor, ANY doctor if you are having these kind of symptoms??? I don't understand. And why would you be asking us to help you, instead of going to said doctor? It sounds like it might be serious to me. Johnrudy, don't shoot me, but there are some things that I think should NOT be asked on a message board. And something like this is one of them. IMHO....none of us are qualified to answer medical questions...well, except for skunky anyway, and I feel like why should someone who is obviously suffering not just go the doctor instead of asking us for advice.....

I think advice has been offered from one and all. I think the advice to see a Dr. is the very best advice. Seeking a new one if you are sick or in pain and can't be seen for 2 weeks is excellent advice.

I would be worried that a home remedy may relieve the discomfort, but may mask a medical condition that needs further attention. It's always best for your health and your peace of mind to seek professional medical assistance.

Let us know what your Dr. says.

On a serious note, ladydebubba, kathydwells and the rest are right...you really do need to get to a doctor. I had symptoms similar to yours several years ago and it turned out to be an ulcer. It can affect your back and neck muscles as well, probably due to tensing up from the stomach pain.

You really do need to see a doc ASAP.
