At this juncture in time, way to much is made of the parties and their influence on the voter, IMO. The election last night was not a referendum on Obama by any stretch of the imagination.
It was a statement the voters were sending to Washington DC, Trenton, NJ and Richmond VA that they are fed up and tired of politicos ignoring their wishes and spending money they don't have. We can only hope those in Congress will sit up and take notice.

Why- because you say so?

I call BS just as I would if someone said there is no doubt that it is NOT a referendum to the president.

You seem to ignore the trend (see my previous post) and the exit polls which seek to identify why people voted the way they did.

no, not because i think so. its because im looking at exit poll opinions and the simple fact that the regular folks that dont follow politics are feeling it in the wallet and seeing the weakness in our federal government. my family voted for obama and see nothing coming from it but chaos, irresponsiblilty, radicalism to the top positions and frankly an empty suit politician being a politician/radical versus the almighty leader we were promised to get. they see the only economic growth is from the government while the private sector who creates jobs and fuels growth and prosperity is being stepped on. this is economics 101 and its being felt nation wide trust me on this one.

the obama campaign showed that trends mean nothing. if your going to tell me that corzine being voted out by a republican isnt a referendum towards obama than we have nothing to debate here. people are pissed off and see whats going on in washington and are using their voting power to speak there peace. its the only way washington will listen in modern day american.

One is the legislative branch and the other the executive branch and they have different responsibilities and functions. At this time, both stink, functionality wise and while you're at it, throw in the judical branch as well.

Corzine was a lousy Governor, pure and simple. Do you live anywhere near New Jersey or have any family living there that would make you know anything about NJ politics?

But what the MSM and FOX news are not reporting and what may be a true indicator of the politic climate of the GOP is that a Democrat won the NY 23rd District even after Palin, Rush et. al. spent over 1 million trying to get their man the seat. A Democrat from that district hasn't had that seat since the Civil War.

The good news is that Sarah Palin is now the kiss of death for any potential candidate.

Strategically, wouldn't the Dems want someone they can beat - a sure bet kinda' thang? :dunno:

im fully aware of the branches of government. fact is, the leadership in both the house and senate are completely on board with what obama wants to do. after all, obama is letting pelosi take complete control of so-called health reform.
