It's a really hard habit to break. I LOVED my snacks at night. When I think I want something I go and grab a piece of gum. I think this is my 3rd night not eating anthing after dinner. So far so good. I think the key is to eat enough during the day. The protein water really fills you up and keeps you feeling full. Toots---SouthBeach makes one too. A powder to add to bottled water. It had a little less protein than the SpecialK brand.

Ya know...I used to have arms like my avatar. I was probably about 12. I'll just take my pre-baby arms anyday.
I'm sorry to say,I didn't follow through last night and probably won't tonight, but tomorrow night I'm giving it my all!!:bang::bang:

I'll be here. I pretty proud of myself. Went out with the girls for dinner and I had an incredible salad with a lemon-olive oil vinegarette dressing. It was an easy choice because everything in the salad sounded so good. The work out I did earlier was a Yoga ab work out. I'm using and feeling muscles I:wave: didn't know I had. I know I'm a little late on joining in on the yoga trend but I really didn't know I would like it so much. I hate exercise and this is the first time I've ever looked forward to doing it. I may need to join a real class after I learn all the poses. Did you know there's a Yoga Nintendo DS game? No kidding!

OL - please try some live classes in your area. its so so so much better and you learn so much more with a certified instructor. and try several kinds, hatha, iyengar, or whatever you can find that isn't "hot yoga". most yoga is excellent work out for your entire body. and so much more interesting than a gym or other kinds of repetitive exercise. and some yoga is strenuous enough to provide cardio and muscle work. you will find that yoga can help you in many ways - and provide much motivation to live healthy in all areas of your life. a good yoga instructor will not only teach all you need to know, but also encourage you to do a home practice (the goal of yoga).

really? wail hail! I would love to hear about your yoga escapades dahling.

I've always enjoyed it for several reasons. and I enjoy several different kinds. Hatha is a good type to start with - very relaxing and also good exercise overall. meditative too. but, you may want to get a little more from your yoga in the long run by moving into a "vinyasa" type yoga where you do a flow of standing postures in addition to balance poses, stretch and relaxation poses. its all really nice and funn too. eventually you'll want to find the "type" and teacher that you can stick with for real long term learning and practice.

but never depend on a teacher for your yoga practice because they can come and go (I've been lucky enough to have had a good one for about 8 years or so - but I also check out other classes because that's what you should do to further your knowledge).

good for you DD. start asking around. let us know!

I started with Hatha years ago and it was the perfect intro to yoga. after a while I needed something with more movement/flow. every person has different things they want and need from yoga - yoga is really a lifestyle - not just a physical form of movement. you'll need to read up on it too of course.

I've been dragging my ass getting started on it. The classes at the gym look a tad bit intimidating, but there's a place down the street from where I work. I'm gonna check it out. Thanks for the info, sweetie.

Muscle weighs more than fat, so don't just use the scale as a gauge. You can be losing inches and still weigh "the same" if you are replacing fat w/ muscle.
