Message from her just now. Wow!
Hey Mommy!
I am here and things are going great. We visited a fairly large village today and it was the hardest yet most incredible thing I have ever seen. If you can only imagine the worst way you could imagine to live, I am sure it would be worse. I was not mentally prepared for what I saw there. The children were so precious and they love saying "How are you?", so they repeated that over and over in a chant like rytham as we walked through the streets. I went with a few local Compassion workers and other girls from our group to an 8 year old girls house for a home visit. We met her father and younger brother who is 2. There house was the same size as the guest bathroom at our house and they had one bed, one bench, one chair and one table. They said that was a small family and both of the parents were in there early twenties. We had the chance to talk back and forth with the dad through a translator about their lifestyle and what they do to earn income. He just asked that we pray for his family to be secure in the Lord and also financially. He makes $1.50 a week and his wife about 75 cents a week. We walked right through the villages sewage system (their sidewalk) and had the biggest blessing of all of hugging and loving on these beautiful children. They are customed to shaking hands to whoever they meet so we touched many beautiful hands. They also love the camera, love their picture being taken and more importantly seeing themselves on the camera screen!! It was amazing and I cant wait to write more!
ALL MY LOVE!!!
Jancy Kay!
