Have we done this one yet, friends and neighbors? Your olive-skinned touron and beloved NoHall has her annual first-outing-of-the-year sunburn.
Disclaimer: Before you start your :nono1: and scolding, I have issues with sunscreen. Without sunscreen, I get your basic first degree sunburn. With sunscreen I get second degree burns in half the time it takes to get a first degree burn with no sunscreen. I have scars to prove it. I think I would do better to smear Crisco all over my body than to slather on the chemical melanoma in a bottle.
So--what are your remedies? Punzy correctly told me that baking soda would kill the sting (I'm on my way to buy her another box!) BB donated a bottle of soothing aloe vera, which works while it's still wet. (I like mixing it with baking soda.)
I'm looking at a website that offers the following: Vinegar, tea, mustard, oatmeal, (at least I won't be hungry,) Solarcaine, (I left two bottles of this at home!) aspirin (both internally and topically,) anything with aloe vera, Noxema, hydrocortisone, shaving cream, Preparation H, Vagisil, and (of course) Windex.
