Anyone have more info on the coming Whole Paycheck?

I really like For The Health of It, but their hours generally don't overlap with the times I'm actually on 30-A very often.

As for Target, I love them for their cheap non-food non-durable goods. They sell my contact lens soaking and cleaning supplies for 30% cheaper than anyone else in the area, including Walmart, does, and they're also my budget-friendly source for toilet paper, trash bags, shampoo, dish soap, etc. And I like the style of their cheap/disposable housewares more than what Bloodbath & Beyond sells.

It's going to be so nice to not have to schlep all the way over to Mary Esther once or twice a month for those kinds of things.

Too far from the beach (Chicago 'Burbs)
Is it a regular Target or a Super Target (or a Target "Greatland?") West of Big Kahuna's is not good. Still too much traffic to deal with in peak season. But definitely nice to have another option besides Wal-mart!

www.target.com Why schlep anywhere? And I'll bet there are better online places than target.com to get your goods.

"Why schlep anywhere? "

Yeah, I was thinking about this. Never before have I had a reason to shop at Target.com, but who knows how it will be for us in little Port St Joe.
Better to shop online and pay postal costs then schlep and pay for gas.
I can do without a lot of stuff, but things like dog food and vino fino do come to mind. :)

Because target.com doesn't sell toilet paper, my contact lens solution, or trash bags online. And I'm not gonna pay $11/bottle for eye stuff at the grocery store when it's $6.59.bottle at the big red bullseye.

I've had one too many weird experiences in Niceville Kmart, and have a longstanding loathing of Walmart and will only set foot in one anymore under extreme emergency situations.

I think it's a regular old Target, but is very nice. Much bigger than the one in FWB. It had some limited grocery items in addition to the usual Target stuff. My son noticed that the toy department was sizeable. Yeah, it will be too far to go in peak season. I don't make it as far as Walmart during the summer any more.

That's why I said there are better places online than Target.

What I'm saying is that when you add up your time, gas money, frustration from traffic, pollution, etc., shopping online is much cheaper even if the sales price and delivery cost is a little higher.

There's nothing you can't buy on the internet and usually cheaper than anywhere else. I understand the need to shop sometimes (especially for the ladies  ).

The only reason we need stores, other than a need to touch the product, is to get something the same day. That's the next stage of consumerism - ordering something and having it arrive at your door the same day, or in 30 minutes if it's a pizza.

Though there are some things that just aren't cost effective to buy online or by catalog, and then ship to individual homes. I'd hate to think what shipping costs would be for the typical 28 pound box of scoopable cat litter.

Exactly.
I think this is why I will have to become a savvier, more methodical consumer.
Target and other places like it are made for impulse buying.
I am sure that there are some people who walk in with one thing in mind, and walk out with that one thing. I am not one of them.
