Though there are some things that just aren't cost effective to buy online or by catalog, and then ship to individual homes. I'd hate to think what shipping costs would be for the typical 28 pound box of scoopable cat litter.

Free shipping right now at petsmart.com.

Only on orders of $60 or more. And if I go to Petsmart in Destin, the volunteers from Feline Friends or Pet Welfare will let me in to help socialize the kittens they've got up for adoption.

Tiny fuzzy little kittens with their wee little purrs that want to scale my shoulders like Mt. Everest trump a heckava lot.

I love Whole Foods, walking through the door just makes you want to eat healthy--must be something in the air.

Oh, we've been missing Whole Foods since moving down from Chicago! When and where in Destin?
We lived a few blocks from the one in Lincoln Park, until 1999. The best years of our lives, until we moved here. Where was your location?

"Why schlep anywhere? "

Yeah, I was thinking about this. Never before have I had a reason to shop at Target.com, but who knows how it will be for us in little Port St Joe.
Better to shop online and pay postal costs then schlep and pay for gas.
I can do without a lot of stuff, but things like dog food and vino fino do come to mind. :)
Cil, I drove thru PSJ a couple of weeks ago. Walked around downtown, took a few pictures. What a nice town it is and what great potential that town has. If the future turns out like the pictures, whoa baby!

Thanks to EBay and QVC, the local UPS drivers all know me by sight and name - and if there is nothing else on the truck going to my neighborhood, they drop my stuff off at my workplace.

My co-workers would get a hoot out of a 28-lb bag of cat litter! :rotfl:

Destin is also getting a Whole Foods. I think ya'll are going to LOOOOOOOVE that! :clap_1: :clap_1:
My wife is bonkers over this news. When we were in NYC last year we happened upon the one at Columbus Circle. Who would have thought all of Manhattan could fit into a health food emporium? We hung out there for hours, getting stuffed on the samples. Never seena food store like that.

Aw, thanks, Mack. I appreciate your encouraging comments. Yes, the potential is there, and I look forward to being part of the community.

It's a hot singles spot as well...

You can get Jamba Juice down there too. Choke down a wheatgrass shot! :puke:

OnMackBayou, I lived 39 years in the western suburbs. Mostly Lombard/Villa Park area, but kept moving farther Northwest there at the end. We got out as far as Lake in the Hills and then made the big move down here. Quite a change for me!
