Building of the mosque at ground zero shows very little sympathy for 911 victims and their families, yet the left argues the constitutional right to do so.
A deranged pastor wants to burn korans, yet he is chastised for choosing to do so.Does he not have the same constitutional rights as the Imom???

Hehe, the very clever pastor has chosen to not burn the koran after all, after receiving a phone call from the Imom saying he was no longer pursuing to build the mosque at ground zero......Very clever.

Opposing the building of another mosque near ground zero shows very little sympathy for Muslim 911 victims, service members, and their families, yet the right argues the constitutional right to do so.

A deranged pastor wants to burn korans, and he is rightly chastised by both political parties for choosing to do so.

Hehe, the very clever :sarc: pastor has chosen to not burn the koran after all, after receiving all the attention he craves ...... (and after he realized he was SO wrong President Obama and Sarah Palin agreed on the issue).

 Edited a little for ya!

It does not matter if he is right or wrong or classless or craves attention,he still has the constitutional right to do so and that is the arguement here. The political correctness does not apply as comparing the mosque building and the koran burning....it all falls into the same category.
Both have the American Rights to choose to do so but for some reason the mosque gets a free pass and the pastor exploited the fact....

No hypocrisy. The big difference is that it is indisputable that burning a Koran is an inflammatory, offensive (to some), classless act. There is little room for opinion on that one. Building of the mosque could be considered by many to be a non-event. There is certainly room for disagreement.

I have to ask, at this stage of the game, are you really willing to believe the pastor's story that the Imam has agreed not to build the cultural center. Don't you think a little fact checking is in order before you reap such high praise on this psycho-Xian dirtbag. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing good to say about Muslim fundies either. In fact, it looks like the Imam just issued a veiled threat regarding what will happen if the mosque plans are abandoned. That's what makes me question your hero's story.

I never questioned whether he had a constitution right to burn Korans, just said it was rude and dumb for him to choose to do so.

Agreed. The mosque falls into the same category.
Luci-That pastor is no hero of mine but he did exploit the hypocrisy of the constitutional right to do bad things and very clever I might add.

One of the most interesting things to me is the fact that only one American has threatened to burn a Koran on 9/11.

I would think at least one in a million Americans would want or threaten to do so, & that would be 320-350 or so.

Are we really such a sane nation, that only one person out of 350 million of us has threatened to burn a Koran?

No he's not clever. He's a failed publicity whore and hate-monger. This had nothing to do with the mosque. That was his last minute excuse when he realized he might want to back down. He made up that story. There is no deal with the imam. It was a face-saving B.S. story. It's back to square one, and now he's ready to burn again. He's an embarrassment to believers, non-believers, and blasphemers the world over. Quran burning on again? Pastor says maybe - U.S. news - Security - msnbc.com
