remember the alamo/the maine/pearl harbor. want to drag that **** up for some good old fashioned racial hate? time to move on, to quit whining, to quit leaning on that event as a basis for hate. ground zero will have all the monuments and plaques we can muster. the families and responders will eventually get money, but at some point[now], we need to stop picking at the scab. the mosque argument is juvenile.

"Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it."
We remember these events not to drag up hate but to understrand how they happened and make sure we do not fall into the same traps again.

It does not matter if he is right or wrong or classless or craves attention,he still has the constitutional right to do so and that is the arguement here. The political correctness does not apply as comparing the mosque building and the koran burning....it all falls into the same category.
Both have the American Rights to choose to do so but for some reason the mosque gets a free pass and the pastor exploited the fact....

Allowing the mosque to be built in lower Manhattan makes life easier for our troops.

Not burning the Quran makes life easier for our troops.

And yet you are FOR moving the mosque FOR the idiot pastor's right to burn Qurans.

Those who subscribe to both of these positions might want to take a long hard look at who's side they're really on.

How does building the mosque make life easier for our troops? The arguement I have heard is that it could appear to be a sign of weakness and thus make life more dangerous for our troops.

We need a new expression, "pain whore". Somebody who exploits terrible tragedy showing fake compassion as a means of self-promotion and also as a means of dragging down perceived adversaries, who are in fact figments of the deluded pain whore's imagination.

I get this this entirely...some of us seem like that old Jewish woman who dispairs until the day she dies...over what? We got hit real hard. We got up. We invaded a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. We ran our economy into the toilet. We certainly don't deserve any favors from anybody. Can't you think of something better to whine about than "Muslims are stealing our Sacred Ground" ?

I think maybe the scab pickers (thanks for that Bob) are trying to drag others down to their level of misery.

When Newt Gingrich compares Islam with Nazism in regard to the proposed mosque in lower Manhattan, that makes life more difficult for our troops overseas. Muslims have a legitimate First Amendment right to put a mosque there. The idiot pastor in Florida does not have a First Amendment right to burn copies of the Quran for the same reason he doesn't have the right to yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater -- because it would put people's lives (our troops and embassy personnel) at serious risk. Why the wackadoodle Right chooses to ignore this while imperiling our troops overseas says a great deal about them. Their positions on these two matters are, in my opinion, reprehensible and unpatriotic.

Yes he does, just as Muslims have the right to build the mosque at ground zero.Neither of these examples are in good taste but they are allowed to do so constitutionally and that is what separates us from the rest of the world(where have I heard that line before?) We do not need to be hypocrites here and accept it for what it is.......just because they have the right to do something, does not make it right.ugghhh......
