I just can't get past the acrylic nails on the little girls. Having had them myself, and knowing what it does to adult nails, and how it weakens them (leaving them succeptible to infections) I can't help thinking about what it's doing to their little fingers.

My goddaughter is that age, and her little nails are so thin and flimsy anyway! Don't know why that's the thing that sticks out to me, but it is... :dunno:

Baby shows are a standard feature at county fairs around here. Several years ago a friend and i judged the toddler division (age 18 to 24 months). We picked the little girls in gingham dresses or sunsuits and were stopped on our way out by an irate father. His child had on a pageant dress, mascara, lipgloss and blush. We tried to explain that we thought a baby representing the fair should have a natural look but he was having a fit. We had to be escorted to our car by fair officials.

I know I shouldn't laugh, but that guy should have been arrested for child abuse. Even Hollywood isn't allowed to use synthetic materials on babies under the age of 2.

JMO, I believe children should stay children as long as possible. Innocence is stripped away soon enough in the real world.
