We bought a frozen turducken at an ice market in Destin earlier this year. We bought the "small" version, as there were only the two of us...a deboned chicken stuffed with a rice, bell pepper, sausage and crawfish dressing. We really enjoyed it. I'd love to try the full version...guess we'll need a houseful. We also got a Dean's cake...mmmmm good!

This one is a deboned turkey stuffed with a deboned Chicken stuffed with a deboned duck stuffed with pork dressing

All sounds really gross!

Gross??? You can't be serious.

Turduckens are very popular in LA as are fried turkeys. We enjoy both a lot. We've ordered a fried bird for Thanksgiving and will bring a turducken to SoWal for New Years.

You guys can eat what you want to, but I am going vegetarian on Thanksgiving. Turduckens remind me too much of Super Size and Ryan's Mega Bars -- Makes me want to :puke:

Step away from the TURD DUCKEN!!!! It is not of this world....it is a conspiracy. Have you thought about Bird Flu...you really increase your chances with that thing! Bon Appetit!

Turducken is okay, but arm yourself with plenty of Tums, because it will give you a massive case of heartburn. In my opinion, only worth it if you are not the one doing the stuffing, which seems rather gross. It is a small chicken stuffed into a duck, then the duck is stuffed into a large turkey. Sometimes they also contain short ribs or foie gras, in which case you'd better have a case of Tums or other industrial-strength anti-acid.

.

Donna's description (and opinion) is Turducken as I know it. I've had it at relatives' houses a couple times, for Christmas. The novelty is more exciting than the actual taste. Never had it with foie gras but that sounds tastier to me. (I tend to be an enthusiastic eater over the holidays.)
The best holiday turkey I've ever had was smoked. Not salty at all--just real fall-off-the-fork tender.
