I suppose if one had old money, one could gamble more because you'd have that as a backup. But he didn't have that, so he decided he'd be better using his brains than his brawn.
With athletes, it's either that or finding mega big sponsors to pay the bills. We've been watching the Olympics and I'm just shivering up and down my spine looking at the terrifying feats these athletes do. Especially the skiing.
