The truth is the county will give a tax deed to upland beach owners , for 100 or less of beach sand property. I guess you must be one of the entitled

Nope. I live north of 98. I've also gone through the effort to understand the quiet title process and other legal issues concerning this issue. You apparently have chosen not to that, draw your own conclusions and then insult and harass people who don't follow your self taught misinformation.

I did get the BCC meeting date wrong, it was November 28, 2023 and can be viewed here:

It's under the public comments right before planning approvals. There was a tall slender blond man that asked and Mr. Atkinson explained in pretty good detail.

Let's keep in mind that not every beach front home is a monument to hardwork and success, some are; but I believe the vast majority are the result of good marriage, good divorce or the lucky sperm club.
And therein lies the essence and true motivation behind all your negative posts against beach front owners... "wealth" envy. Sad, really. Never mind that my share of beach front property cost $115,000.

So do you think a home owner , that has land north of dunes should be able to go to the county and get the land towards the water. ( the beach ) for tax deed of 100 a year. I’m only complaining that county should not have right to give beach away for that amount or any amount.

You do not listen if you paid for your land above the dunes . And pay 115,000 a year great for you. What we are talking about is county giving tax deed for beach property. If you pay 115,000 and think you are entitled to the beach for 100.00. Then that makes you greedy. If you buy property then go to county and get beach land for basically free , and think it should be you’re a there lies the problem. I have a house in sea grove and one in Freeport and also pay on 15 other properties in the county. So no I don’t agree with 115,000 tax bill but because you choose that land and could afford shouldn’t entitle you to get free beach property to then say no one can use.

I do not see or feel the envy that you speak of building on a sand dune next to the ocean. I think that would be called disrespectful to our ecosystem which is done every time we build on natural resources anywhere. We may all be somewhat responsible which is another issue. The issue we have in Walton County is who should have access to the dry sandy beach. I do not think anyone disagrees with private property rights and the sacrifice that it takes to own property. So please stay focused on the issue not the narratives that are usually wrong. If a private property owner wants to own all the way to the wet sand that would be greed. If the public does not use proper beach behavior that would also be greed. This issue exploded into a conflict that left the county no choice but to legally enforce customary use which is a long standing precedent. Now here is where money and wealth comes to play. We all know the power of wealth. You just can not deny that fact. The public is losing important resources to wealth all over this country. Moderation is not something that wealth understands very well. Moderation is the balance necessary in quality of life for society as a whole. Wealthy people like Mike Huckabee believe that they are special and deserve to build on the sand dune and own all the way to the wet sand. If you also believe that then I would say you have missed the point of life. Moderation...

You're talking about people who would see the dunes at Deer Lake State Park and want to level them and put housing there.

The "county" are humans with power. Humans make mistakes. All of us make mistakes. Okay now we have these issues. Have we learned anything from mistakes made is something that we should be able to ask of those in power. The only thing they can do now is purchase land for beach access. What else can we do about a mistake except learn from it, try not to keep doing it and minimize the impact. We should be able to complain but at some point we have to find solutions to problems. How we go about finding solutions is really important. All I know is that finding solutions is usually give and take which is not easy but not impossible either.

Yes you are probably right! We all live in a capitalistic society where money is king. It is the reason why law and regulation is important. Quality of life in society require Law and Regulation and is a responsibility of those we put into government offices. Many abuse that responsibility out of greed I assume. We need our government to work for the people not just people with money...
