(Ord. No. 2017-10, § 2, 3-28-17)

So you're a party to thos challenge?

Folks for the record the county still owns this easement and has abandoned nothing, hence the lawsuit. It's a philosophical legal argument at best.

No sir, I’m not. As Bob Bob above noted, the county has already lost this issue with a homeowner in federal court, so not philosophical.

Interesting that all of this over sand that can only be replaced mechanically. The natural conveyor of sand (sediment) is the Chattahoochee Flint river system via of the Apalachicola River, That natural replenishment no longer exists because of manmade dams on these rivers along with soil conservation districts designed to stop erosion. For hundreds of thousands of years the natural flow and reduction of rocks to sand particles has taken place. That is what built our entire area, not just the beaches. White beach compatible sand is routinely mined inland. Look at the Stump Hole area of Cape San Blas and you will see the future of Walton beaches. These folks are very short sighted/

The stump hole is completely different. Cape San Blas is a barrier peninsula and nature is trying to make it an island.

Request by Clay Adkinson, acting county attorney, for approval to schedule and advertise a special meeting/closed executive session regarding the Watercolor Community Association, Inc. v. Walton County lawsuit, case no. 2022 CA 122. The lawsuit involves assertions by the community association that the association is entitled to terminate county easements on parcels in the Watercolor community, including the one in use for the Van Ness Butler Regional Beach Access. Adkinson said the meeting would not be scheduled before the end of the year.

A motion by Glidewell to schedule and advertise the special meeting/executive session carried unanimously.
