I must be really lucky. I don't receive e-mail smears about either candidate. Guess my Republican voting friends are considerate and leave me off their chain e-mail lists, and my Democrat friends just don't do the McCain smear thing. In fact, I can't think of any anti-McCain crap that has hit my inbox- we just don't participate like that.

I think the bottom line is this- if you hear or see something that raises your eyebrows in disbelief (or in the case of the anti-Obama camp- gets you excited that you might have some real meat), it's probably a total crock. For me, this election is not about birth certificates and lipstick.

I agree, thus can we please focus on lapel pins, Islam and first ladies in waiting?

The question of Barack's birth certificate

Here is the link Obama has for Fight The Smears. It has a picture of a copy of his birth certificate. One os the questionable things listed on this document is the race of his father is listed as African. African is not a race. In 1961 it would have listed his race as *****.

I knew it had been posted earlier, but could not find the thread. I had just learned about the actual difference in the 2 birth certificates and was wondering why such a big difference. Consolidating them is fine with me. Thanks

You are showing certificates of two different people. Two years apart.

As an example, my brother and I, same family, same hospital, same state, same city, but two different birth years, and guess what, our birth certificates look nothing alike. Go figure.

As they say, move along, there is nothing here to see.

I've got three kids, all born since 2000, all born in Georgia, that have 3 different birth certificate styles. Two were born in the same county, 2 years apart.

Plus the fact that his father was African and not just black played into that designation instead of just "*****." There are a number of cultural & now even genetic differences (due to "race mixing") between "people of colour" born in Africa and those born here. On a number of historical documents, I have family members listed as German under their race. you couldn't find a thread you posted in numerous times? is this the first BB you've ever been involved in? the search function is in the header of every page. you can also find all posts made by yourself on your own profile page. this is ridiculous mossyhead. Do you have nothing new to smear? instead you make yourself look like an...yourself by regurgitating something already laid to rest. of course the two documents look different. one is an official copy issued by the state, the other a photo of an original. pitiful.
