I apparently grew up in a parallel dimension - where your clothes only got washed if they appeared in the basement w/ empty pockets at the appointed time and it was your job to get the basket of clean clothes and put them away....................and if you didn't, they no longer got washed for you.

And if you didn't put in your food requests when Papa Scooterbug made the grocery list you were S.O.L. on having any input on meals (but still had to help make them and do the dishes).
Like you said about the clothes. We had to bring our own clothes down to the basement, then once they were washed we had to bring them back up to the bedrooms and put them away. If that wasn't done in a timely fashion, Saturdays were spent in the house helping to clean.

I do not like any household chores. None of them. You would never know it though based on all the cleaning products I have. I buy them all, and I guess somehow they are going to do the cleaning themselves without my intervention... ;-)

^^^^What she said.

Can I hear an AMEN, sistahs?!!! ^^^

When we were packing up our kitchen FBB looks at me and says, "how many pucking cleaning products do we own and do I need to get you in a 12 step program?" He shut it when I got the nine iron out and waved it around his pointy head.

We have everyone here doing their laundry too but it is hard to yell at the kids for not doing a good job putting away their clothes when mine are in folded piles on a chair in my room. It doesn't stop me from getting on to them....just have to add the 'DO AS I SAY, NOT AS DO" clause.

Does anyone want to come over and scrub my bathrooms?

Didn't you two live in luxury. I remember when my mom took us to Wal-Mart to buy us our very own laundry baskets. That was her hint that it was now our problem.

We already had our own laundry baskets - and doing our own laundry was added to the long list of chores when we were 12.

I also remember the rule that anything found in the washing machine was the operators property. Change, money, etc.

I pretty much hate 'em all, but was reminded today that it has to be cleaning the fridge. Hands down.

I'm not sure if this counts or not but, Yard Work!

If this is limited to indoors, Hanging a Picture. I can't tell you how many times Graytonbound and I were headed to Divorce Court over hanging a picture

Once I got into high school I was pretty much on my own. My parents were gone weekends and most of the summer so I had to do everything for myself. It sure was not a pampered upbringing.
