by the way, i just talked to my mom, and told her my dental woes, and mentioned that i feel since she is my parent it is her responsibility to pay my costs. she wasn't very kind in her reply, there was profanity involved. she said she knew damn good and well i could afford to pay my own bills. i didn't say i couldn't afford it - i just don't want to pay it !!

i told her being a parent is a life-long responsibility. she hung up on me.

i've used this tactic many times - the old you chose to have me, i didn't choose to be born thing. she's such a softy it works every time ! i know how she feels - i am the same way with the nephew !

on this age thing - i go to the dentist this morning, the first words out of his mouth were "i see you are going to be 40 this year - we should probably bump your cleanings up to every 6 months" - oh my god - way to start out a conversation doc. he ended with a $3000 estimate for all the work i need - and this was my reaction:

mermaid, i would love to celebrate the bday with you, but am gonna pass on the experimental dentistry thingy ;-) i do not make a good guinea pig. we are gonna spread my fun over the next 2 years so my dental plan will pick up on it. my dentist is such a sweet man, he actually apologized for all the work i need done, like it's his fault. here again - i blame my mom. she gave my sis the good teeth

anything to do with caps, crowns, bridges, drills and needles definitely only gets one n in fun in my book !

hehehehe she called and said they would pay for it, after all, i am only shooting myself in the foot, she would be taking it out of my inheritance

i like to tease her about stuff like this, because i really do have the greatest mom, and if she had to she would sell the shirt off her back to provide for her "girls".

i was laughing, the dentist gave me paperwork in my info packet on interest free dental loans, i think i will mail it to mom !

on the plus side - i haven't had a cavity in over 15 years. now all my old fillings are cracking and falling out. that's my motto, if you don't have any problems, create some ;-)
