That's one reason why I buy the Daumier because all most people notice is the checkerboard pattern. You have to get really close to the bag to see the LV logo. Obviously the more fashion-oriented people recognize the Daumier by now, but still it's not covered with a logo. Another reason for the Daumier is that most of the fakes are the classic "Monogram" canvas covered with LV.

Pet peeves? I hate my black LV Epi. The opening is too small and the interior is so dark (I hear ya, DD) that it's hard to find anything in it. Also the leather is just too hard. I still carry it when I need a big black bag.

I also hate my big black Gucci because it has too many pockets. The irony is that I bought it because it has so many pockets. But I can never remember which pocket I put an item into, so I can never find anything. :dunno: Our daughter took that one off my hands.

When our daughter was born, I wanted a stylish diaper bag. So I bought a beautiful LV with an all-leather interior, a cross-strap, and just enough pockets. Our daughter started carrying it when she happened to find it my closet, and every time she carries it, she gets compliments. I'd say it's vintage. :)

So Mangy, are you going to buy a bag that works with the color of the upcoming season, Bordeaux? I'm tempted. Not an expensive one because next year it will be so 2011. That's why I stick with the classics instead of the trends.

Bordeaux, isn't that just another name for burgandy? I have an inexpensive bag that is a mix between chocolate and burgundy, so I am thinking that it is probably bordeaux. I love that color, so rich looking and I don't think it is trendy at all. Great fall color.

I've got news for you, BR. The Damier is all over the back rooms of Canal Street.
The Chinese don't miss a beat when it comes to knockoffs, although, I can tell the difference if I handle the bag, but from afar, no. (They even have serial #'s and style codes)

Backpacks! Been wanting to buy one. That's the one bag I do not have. I like the idea that you can also carry it on your arm if the strap drop is long enough. backpacks now can be very stylish.

I never really gave much mind to the interior color of the bag until recently when I got a B Mackowsky and his signature interior is an animal print. It's driving me nuts, although I love the outside of the bag, I am not using it much. It's like my stuff is packed in a zoo. Good thing I didn't pay much for it since it was used and an exchange of bags at a party.

Pet peeves: Useless zipper section inside in the middle, DARK lining.

[/QUOTE] DD-- I like the inner zipper in the middle. I use it for the catchall stuff like pills and lipstick. Then I don't put anything on either side of the zipper because I never can remember which side I put things. Flat things that I accumulate (like receipts) are put in the outside zipper. and...I hate changing handbags so I buy one I like that goes with just about everything..and if it doesn't--oh well, thats just the way it goes.

My personal favorite was a large Elaine Turner that was canvas and covered in different colors of poppies-it was my favorite because of the print and size but only lasted a couple of summers before the canvas looked pretty beat up; I did buy it on sale for $150 rather than $300 so that was night.

I have several Vera Bradley totes that are cute, reasonably priced and comfy to carry but because they are cloth they will get dirty, especially if light colors.

I am currently a fan of Michael Kors bags, the leather is soft and his bags are more trendy but reasonably priced enough that I'm cool to pay a couple of hundred dollars for a bag that I'll carry for a couple of seasons. I also like several different Kate Spade bags and have a few. I've always wanted a classic Chanel but can't talk myself into spending the money, maybe for my 40th bday that'll be my gift to self!!!

I do tend to change bags with the season.

One of the things I refuse to pay over $100.00 for is a purse, it's just something I can't do even if money is plentiful. That said I love Kathy Van Zeeland purses and belts and have several of each. They are fun, blingy and they last.

That doesn't surprise me. You don't see them so much in ATL. I asked hubby to buy me a Birkin the last time he went to China. Even gave him a photo of one. He paid $100 for it. That thing is UGLY! :rotfl: I have never carried it. But as I think I've told you, someone I know has a great Birkin knockoff that she bought in NYC. I want one!

You hit two of the top 10 trends for fall with that bag! Love the bamboo!

THAT's the problem with the middle zipper. I should have figured that out.

I rarely change bags (same with jewelry) because I'm always running late for work. I have a work friend who changes bags frequently. What she does is buy those clear bags that retail stores make their employees carry, puts her stuff in those, and when she wants to change bags, she just transfers the clear plastic containers. Wala! Not late for work due to having a purse fetish.

I've thought about this. It makes perfect sense. I like it!

for the ladies that like to change purses, they already sell handbag carrier inserts that you just swap out with another bag. I haven't tried it yet, waiting till my birthday because no one knows what to get me anymore, and I heard my sister mention it as cool Christmas gifts. This page has a million different styles.

Look, DD. They gave them in all different colors.
