Wow! A wide range of wonderful options and great ideas! SoWal is the most useful site I've ever encountered and we're loving it. I'm pushing for St. Augustine or Savannah. We'll see what my honey says. How about ...anything between Paris and home :D!!!

Since my girls are little, when we go on "vacation", I drive up around Freeport, over to the midbay bridge and back down to Destin and say "We're here!" Then stay in a condo for a couple of days.
I'm sure they'll catch on eventually.
What a great idea! You think our 14 yr old would notice! Between the ipod and game thingy he's always on we may be able to pull it off!!!:rotfl:

Germany circa 1936?

Um, well, no, SWGB. Not that country during that particular date or time frame! I'm surprised someone hasn't spanked you yet for that.......maybe you meant it to be funny?

Nice shot! Try again?

I just saw that you have a 14 y/o boy. If you are heading East, and if you have not already done so, the Kennedy Space Center would probably be of interest. Your son would enjoy it; especially since we are just celebrating the anniversary of the Walk on the Moon. My husband and I worked at the Space Center...he was part of the Moon project, and I worked at the Kennedy Air Force Station which is located adjacent to NASA, on the Titan IIIC program. It is an amazing place and well worth a visit. The fort and old city in St. Augustine are also quite interesting. I think Savannah is more of an adult venue, but maybe not. Wherever you go, have a grayt time!

What a cute mom you are! Love this!

One day, I hope to say I am going to vacation a few days in Dallas. I also hope that I will not have to visit DD while there, because she will be living in SoWal, too. Dreams are good! :D

I love that story too ssb!!

Kitty, I hope your dreams come true.:wave:

We do love our 2 weeks in Seagrove each year but we also love Key West and New Orleans-they're both annual trips these days as well!

There are great prices to Hawaii right now. Nonstop Dallas to Honolulu as $1250 for 2 with taxes (coach) and the rentals on the beach ranged from $850-1250 for a week for a one bedroom. We're talking beautiful views of the North Shore. Friends just returned from Kaui and said it was the most beautiful place they've ever been. We adored Maui when we travelled there a few years ago. No hurricane worries there this time of year-always a plus!!

San Francisco, Savannah, Charleston-more fabulous restaurants than any other city of it's same size, Martha's Vinyard, Chicago?

I love thinking about where to go-embrace the possibilities!

Sorry, every time I hear that statement I just think of a bad WWII movie and some Nazi guard screaming at someone. :dunno:
