Mac,

Just spoke to my friend in the repair shop and he said there is a chance the numbers on the fender or spoiler might be the VIN numbers. Either way he is glad to take the numbers and run them for you to see if he might be able to track the owner or the dealership the car came from.

I also think the Ad Idea is a great one.

So sorry to hear about your wife's accident! :sosad: Try this, it's worth a shot! Contact Heather Civil, at the NorthWest Florida Daily News. She's a reporter and hopefully, she'll do a story on it! Personally, I believe that it would locate the woman! BMW or not, she needs to be held accountable! :nono1: Please keep us posted, we'll be praying for you both!

I know this is a long shot, but................

My wife was heading east on Hwy 98 at Henderson Beach Rd (near Wal-Mart) around 5:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1st. A lady hit her broadside, stopped to talk to my wife to see if she was ok, then got back in her car and took off. No one stopped to help.

The car that hit her was a silver BMW, possibly a 5 series built between 1997-2000. The BMW completely lost its front bumper and other parts. The front bumper contained a license plate with only a BMW decal. The lady appeared to be in her 50's with blond hair, large cleavage, and said she worked for a dealership. She may have been drinking before the accident.

Anyone with any information please pm me. Thanks.

Not only does Walmart have cameras, but other stores around it. I would check with employees of ALL stores, nearby. Simply approach the managers and they'll ask employees. My son was hit in a parking lot at a bank, adjacent to a Walmart. An employee at a nearby store, saw the after affects of the incident, but not the actual accident. The guy that hit my son, even gave fraudulant Ins. info and we couldn't do ANYTHING! :bang: Why? Because the authorities said, that it happened on "private" property! Go figure! This is why I've often said, "the system sucks"! :nono1: FYI, the man's name was Randy Burgess, brother of former Defuniak Springs Chief of Police! Needless to say, he didn't care much either! We all know the problems, he's having now! I guess it's all in the genes! Randy Burgess has an awning business somewhere around south FL, but I wouldn't recommend anyone doing business, with a person like that! :pissed:

If the batty broad (platinum blonde with large cleavage? cmon') leaves florida and heads home out of state then the local sherrif can call in the FBI, or probably wouldn't because of the local crime stats, but you can contact them after a couple of weeks at their local office wherever that may be (panama city or maybe talahasee) and, for what its worth, suggest they look into it.

My bet it's a local and probably in Vertical Real Estate.

Or maybe from Georgia and works at a BMW dealership.

Wal-Mart has security cameras and records everything in the parking lot AND ENTRANCES. Might be worth a shot to remind your insurance company about it.

I'd call all the local BMW dealers Monday morning, including used, looking for that 'good looking salesperson' that you talked to 'last week' about that 'marvelous BMW' that was the same color as the one she drives.

Great idea! You can bet, management probably knows exactly who it is! :clap_1:

Thanks hutch, I will try to do that. I believe she may be a local. She was headed across 98 into an area of condos along old 98. I may see if any of the buildings have that type of vehicle registered for their parking lot.

She said she worked for a dealership when she realized my wife was calling 911. She was, I guess, going to maybe try to settle it privately. But she became obnoxious when my wife insisted on calling the police. Then she ran.

Thanks for all the great ideas and offers of support and help. Fortunately, due to a critical detail my wife remembered, my wife and I have found the perpetrator. We had a hunch where she lived, offered a reward, got an annonymous tip, followed up on it, and found the vehicle.

The police have made a visit to the location of the car, verified that it is the right one, and it is now in their hands.

Thanks again everyone. This board is amazing.

Thanks, Rita. If we had not found it ourselves I believe some of the ideas here would have led us to it eventually.

Don't leave us hanging. What was the critical info your wife remembered, her address?
