Details
The Northwest Florida Ballet (NFB) will stage a free outdoor performance at the Seaside Amphitheater on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. as part of NFB’s cultural outreach productions within the community.
The program begins with a lecture demonstration on the history of ballet and the method of training at NFB featuring both company dancers and school students. Excerpts from the brilliant holiday favorite, The Nutcracker featuring the music of Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky with choreography by celebrated NFB Artistic Director Todd Eric Allen will follow the demonstration.
The performance also includes excerpts from a Midsummer Night’s Dream, based on William Shakespeare’s tangle of plots and subplots about the loves and adventures of mortals and mystical beings.
The evening of dance is sponsored by the Merchants of Seaside and takes place in the Seaside Amphitheater starting at 6pm. Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy the night.
Seaside Merchants bring the community outstanding music, outdoor movies, outdoor chlidrens theater, and many great events enriching our lives through celebrations, festivals and the arts throughout the year in South Walton, Florida.
As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, NFB is highly regarded for providing world-class ballet performances, training students in the art of dance, and reaching out into our community through our educational endeavors. In many ways, this depth showcases NFB as a cultural mosaic arranged to represent the best of the Emerald Coast.
From the facility in downtown Fort Walton Beach where student training takes place to the local family attending a ballet performance for the first time, it is recognized that every facet of NFB as an organization is part of this mosaic. Through the people, the places and their stories the NFB mosaic takes shape and provides an incomparable cultural experience. Learn more about classes and performances at http://nfballet.org/.
