Community Rallies In Support Of Angelina's After Fire Forces Closure
December 11, 2024 by SoWal Staff
An outpouring of community support for one of SoWal's oldest and most-loved restaurants reveals a heartwarming and loyal community spirit in South Walton. Angelina's Pizzeria & Pasta in Seagrove Beach is temporarily closed while a rebuild begins from a devastating fire in the early morning hours of September 12th.
The South Walton Fire District responded quickly and extinguished the fire. Thankfully there were no injuries and the community has immediately shown great love for Angelina's owners and staff. We will keep you updated on the progress of the rebuild, and wish our very best to our friends and longtime partners at Angelina's.
From Angelina's:
Unfortunately our beloved family restaurant, Angelina's, was subject to a major fire in the early hours of Thursday, Sept 12. We are fully dedicated to rebuild our cherished establishment as quickly and efficiently as we possible can. We will miss our friendly customers and all the familiar faces that have made Angelina's such a wonderful place to unwind, dine, and especially to work. Your continued support has made us what we are today, and for that we are fully grateful. We will be working hard behind the scenes to get back to serving 30a and its outlying areas as quickly as possible. Until then stay happy and safe, and we cannot wait to see all of you again.

Dear Friends, Family, and Community, My name is Brianna Mills, and I’m the front of house manager at Angelina’s Pizzeria on 30A!
On September 12th at 2am, Angelina’s was devastated by a fire, leaving us with heavy hearts and a closed door. For over 30 years, our dedicated staff has been the heartbeat of our restaurant, creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone who walked through our doors. While we are thankful that no one was in the building and no one was harmed, this close-knit team of 30 members is facing an uncertain future without their regular jobs.
As we work towards rebuilding, we’re turning to you, our extended family, for support. Your contributions will help provide much-needed financial relief to our staff during this challenging time. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference and help our dedicated team stay afloat until we can open our doors again.
Donations can also be placed directly at any Centennial Bank branch in the area. Just let them know it’s for Angelina’s.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Together, we can help our family navigate this difficult period and look forward to serving you once more.
With heartfelt gratitude, Angelina’s Staff

From South Walton Fire Department (see SWFD video of fire response on facebook):
South Walton Fire District firefighters responded to a commercial structure fire early Thursday morning in Seagrove Beach. The initial 911 caller reported around 2:30 a.m. they could see smoke coming from a restaurant known as Angelina’s Pizzeria and Pasta on County Highway 30A. When SWFD Station 2 firefighters arrived on-scene, they confirmed smoke was visible from the structure and began their fire attack. As additional crews arrived on-scene, firefighters also utilized vertical ventilation to cut holes within the building’s roof and aid in extinguishing the fire.
While enduring the rainy conditions resulting from Hurricane Francine, firefighters created multiple ventilation points and provided better conditions within the structure. Firefighters continued working, overhauling, and clearing the building until approximately 6:30 a.m. No injuries were reported. Approximately 25 SWFD personnel responded to the scene and were assisted by the Walton County Sheriff's Office, Florida with a temporary traffic closure for County Highway 30A.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office was requested to investigate the cause of the incident. The initial findings indicate a fire that was accidental in nature and potentially due to an electrical malfunction. Unfortunately, the restaurant suffered heavy damage. SWFD recognizes this local establishment is well-loved and appreciated within the South Walton community and extends its heartfelt support to the owners, staff, and customers of Angelina’s during the recovery process.
