Join South Walton Community Council Annual Beach Clean Up July 5
July 2, 2014 by SoWal Staff
The South Walton Community Council (SWCC) organizes volunteer efforts each year on July 5th to clean up beach debris from fireworks and Independence Day festivities.
It's fun and rewarding to gather with locals and visitors to keep our beaches pristine, and debris left on beaches after July 4th celebrations poses a hazard to wildlife, including endangered sea turtles and shorebirds. Come out to support the SWCC’s conservation efforts during the annual July 5th beach clean-up from 7-9am.
This year, the SWCC is sponsoring beach clean-up at the following locations:
Miramar Beach
Dune Allen Beach
Ed Walline Park
Blue Mountain Beach
Grayton Beach
Santa Clara Beach in Seagrove
Inlet Beach
Seaside
A coordinator will be stationed at each beach location to provide volunteers with trash bags, gloves, and bottled water.
The SWCC is an organization of residents, business owners and property owners whose mission is to advocate for the preservation, protection and enhancement of the quality of life and natural environment of south Walton County.
