Seaside REP Theatre 2015 Kids' Camps & Shows

Seaside Repertory Theatre's 2015 season brings more productions and programs for children than ever before. Outdoor theater performances, theater camps, storytelling adventures, and improv workshops are coming to SoWal beach towns along Scenic 30A this spring and throughout the summer.

We're big fans of the REP along with kids of all ages throughout the land. Here's what's coming up this season for SoWal kids living and visiting in the South Walton area. See you at the show!

Outdoor children's theater productions are being staged in Seaside and Rosemary Beach promising fun for all the family. All performances are free and open to the public. These fantastic productions will run throughout spring and summer. These are some of our favorite events as locals and we always manage to catch one or more! Bring a blanket or low back chair, a beverage or two, and sit back and enjoy the show.
 

 
The Commedia Robin Hood  
Mondays from 5:00-6:00pm, March 9th - April 13th at the Seaside Amphitheater. The merry troupe, Columbina, Arlequino, Punchin and Rosetta tackle, tumble, trick and trip their way through the tale of Robin Hood with fantastic abandon. Get ready for action-packed clowning with puppets, singing, patter verse and mock combat in this unforgettable adaptation. The Commedia Robin Hood is graciously sponsored by The Seaside Merchants.       
Spring: Mondays, March 9 - April 13, 5:00pm Summer: Mondays, May 18 - August 31, 6:30pm  

 
Sleeping Beauty

Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00pm in North Barrett Square in Rosemary Beach, March 11th - April 8th. In this twist on the beloved fairy tale, a traditional storyteller reading from his all too well-known book of Sleeping Beauty is quickly usurped by the story's feisty villain, the evil Griselda. Sleeping Beauty is graciously sponsored by the Merchants of Rosemary Beach. 
Spring: Wednesdays, March 11 - April 8, 5:00pm
Summer: Wednesdays, May 27 - August 12, 6:30pm

 
Theater Camp!  Do your kids love theater and improv? Are they creative? Are they ready for some fun on stage? Have them sign up for a great time at The REP’s theater camps. Children of all ages love working with the REP's qualified improv actors on the stage!             

Camps take place in the Seaside Meeting Hall Theatre on 215 Quincy Ave (behind Modica Market).  Students will learn the basics of improv, creating solid scene work, and fun characters. The students will also learn different types of improv formats, structures and games. Through it all, the students will see their self-confidence increase while exploring their own creativity and how group trust and teamwork make for an amazing and hilarious improv theatre. Spring Theater Camp is March 10-April 17 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Summer Theater Camp is June 17-August 8 onTuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Elementary students 7-11, 12-1pm. Middle and High School Students 12+, 1-2pm.            

Story Telling, Improv and Adventures along South Walton Beaches! Seaside REP actors are always making a scene somewhere! Join the action and follow along from Seaside to Alys Beach and WaterColor. Actors tell their stories and invite you to participate. Generally much laughter ensues, of course! SoWal kids can't get enough. These short interactive programs are free for all ages!              
Stories by the Sea 
Monday through Friday at 4pm
Seaside Lyceum Archway along Central Square next to Duckie's. Join The REP Theatre professional actors as they present an interactive and one-of-a-kind storytelling experience for children of all ages.
Spring: March 9 - April 10
Summer: June 1 - August 31 
 
Adventures in Alys 
Monday & Wednesday from 10-10:30am at Fonville Press in Alys Beach. Join The REP for a completely original storytelling experience for children of all ages. Watch as we create a new, one-of-a-kind Adventure in Alys, created by our audiences, and maybe even join in the stories yourselves! 
Spring: March 16-April 13
Summer: May 27-August 12
 

 
Intro to Improv 
Thursdays at 10-10:30am at Fonville Press in Alys Beach. All ages are welcome to take an introduction to improv comedy workshop with actors from The REP! Our improv workshops are all about having fun and learning to think on your feet!  Spring: March 12- April 9. Summer: May 28-August 13             

Stories in Watercolor 
Mondays & Wednesday from May 25 - August 12 | 11:30am-12:00pm
Located at the Koi Pond in WaterColor’s Cerulean Park. Join REP actors as they present an interactive and one-of-a-kind storytelling experience for children of all ages.
