Alaqua Animal Refuge, an independent, non-profit organization located on  Florida's Emerald Coast, advocates the general welfare and humane  treatment of animals by providing shelter, prevention of pet  overpopulation and adoption services.
Located down a winding  gravel road on a picturesque, 10-acre farm in Freeport, Florida, once  homeless, lost and abused animals run and play in sun-soaked pastures,  swim in cool, clean ponds, relax on breezy screened porches and graze in  lush, green fields.

The SoWal beach town of Seaside lights up every year at "Turn on the  Town," a celebration welcoming the holidays with an annual Christmas  parade, the arrival of Santa Claus, and the lighting of the Christmas  tree in the town center.

Happy people line the streets to  see the festivities. This year's parade was led by town founders,  Robert and Daryl Davis in their classic red convertible.

WaterColor, located in the heart of the beaches of South Walton,  celebrates the Christmas season with Old Florida Holiday & Winter  Market.
There was plenty of music, lots of Christmas cheer, and even  old Saint Nick made it to WaterColor.
Monark Events always stages a great show, and this one  has the wow factor with horse and carriage rides around Cerulean Park,  snow mist in the air, light shows, many vendors with lots of goodies  including WaterColor's famous chili, and wassail provided by Chan's Wine  World.

Whether you are a serious distance runner or a casual weekend warrior, you'll have fun in America's classic beach town on Sunday, March 6,  2011, at 7:00 am  for the ninth annual Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K Run.

But sign  up now! The 5K Run is limited to the first 800 participants and the Half  Marathon is limited to the first 2,200 participants! Proceeds benefit the Seaside Neighborhood School.

Soon after the Monarch Butterflies make their annual migration through SoWal Beaches, the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County hosts Flutterby Children's Arts Festival, giving a place for kids to flitter.
