6th Annual Fore Her Golf Outing Sep 28

Get teed up and ready for a day of golf at the 6th Annual FORE HER Golf Outing on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club. The money raised from this event will go directly to local individuals battling breast cancer, who are able to use the money to pay for their mortgage, car, utilities, medical expenses, a well deserved vacation after recovering from treatments or a last vacation with their families.

Featuring Sandestin Real Estate, or SRE, as the presenting sponsor, the 110 dollar fee per golfer includes breakfast, lunch, the green fee and a cart. But, attendees can expect even more, including a silent auction, food donated by Centennial Bank, beer samples from Grayton Beer Company, a chance to win a golf cart from Dixielectricar and an opportunity to compete for 1,000 dollars in the third annual Helicopter Golf Ball Drop by Panhandle Helicopter.

Check in and registration begins at 8:00 am with a shot gun start at 9:15 am. The cost per person includes lunch, 18 holes of golf, a cart, hole in one prizes and a silent auction. The Fore Her annual Helicopter Golf Ball Drop is always a fun addition to the outing. Watching numbered pink golf balls falling from the sky is always a sight to see!

Fore Her set to host first Pink Walk at Destin Commons to benefit breast cancer patients

Fore Her has announced the addition of a new annual event to bring in funding for its mission of assisting local breast cancer patients. This new fundraiser, The Pink Walk, is set for Nov. 4 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Destin Commons.

“Destin Commons is honored to be partnering with Fore Her on this inaugural Pink Walk,” said Heather Ruiz, the Senior Director of Marketing & Leasing for the Destin Commons. “Our goal is to generate continued awareness and raise much needed funding in support of our local women and their families during their greatest time of need. We look forward to walking with our community side by side in the fight against breast cancer.”

The half-mile walk around Destin Commons and after party is set to feature a DJ and photo booth from BBoy Productions, sweet treats from Kilwins, activities for children, an aerobics class by U.S. Fitness and much more, including inspirational words from local news channel WJHG’s Jessica Foster.

"As a breast cancer survivor myself, it is an honor to participate in an event that promotes awareness and helps raise money for other women undergoing treatment,” said Foster. “Breast cancer is not only a physical journey, but also an emotional one. Any help we can extend to those battling this disease is a worthwhile endeavor."

For 35 dollars, registered adult walkers will receive entry to the walk and after party, an official Pink Walk t-shirt, a swag bag and more. The race is 25 dollars for children ages five to 12, and children four and under are free. Until October 1, those who register early can receive five dollars off with the promo code, EARLYBIRD.

Signs placed along the walk course to honor those who are battling or have lost their battle with breast cancer are also available for 50 dollars. Proceeds from this event will benefit Fore Her, which provides financial assistance to local breast cancer patients. “When someone is diagnosed with breast cancer, the financial burden is heavy,” said Walsh.

“Which is why Fore Her steps in to carry some of the monetary weight and allow them to focus on their battle and getting better.
