April 8, 2013 by Jill Tanner

The Grayton Beach Kids Fishing Tournament is so much fun - for kids and parents. It's a joy to see the kids so excited. There's nothing like seeing a kid hook their first fish. The South Walton Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association has the 7th annual edition set for April 13 from 8 a.m. to  noon.

It's just $5 to enter and the first 100 kids receive a rod and reel combo, bait and tackle, and beach rod holder. Come to the back porch of the Red Bar in Grayton Beach on the morning of April 13 to join in the fun. Awards are given to girls and boys in three different age categories.

A few rules apply:

  • All Participants must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All Florida saltwater fishing regulations apply
  • All fish shall be alive at weigh-in.
  • If you kill it, you eat it!

Come join in or just watch one of the best events in SoWal! The kids have so much fun, plus it's a real bonding experience for kids and their parents.
