Celebrate Coastal Dune Lake Day at Grayton Beach State Park Jun 4

May 17, 2016 by SoWal Staff

Walton County's Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board (CDLAB) is hosting a celebration of South Walton area coastal dune lakes on Saturday, June 4, 2016. The event will be held at Grayton Beach State park from 10:00 a.m. til 3:00 p.m.

Meet CDLA members, friends and community groups at the boat launch parking lot for an exciting day in the park. It's a celebration of our beautiful coastal dune lakes including education and activities planned on the shores and in the water at Western Lake which lies within Grayton Beach State Park.

The day will be filled with activities and exhibits by many of our local groups, environmental experts, and plenty of recreation. Look for informational and interactive exhibits by Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA), E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center and several more excellent local groups. Meet coastal dune lake film/book producers Elam Stoltzfus and Nic Stolzfus. Have an adventure with stand-up paddle boards, hydrobikes, kayaks and kickbikes. Watch plein air painters capture the beauty in Grayton Beach.

Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty and SETCO Services will be providing hamburgers and hot dogs.

Coastal Dune Lake Day is free and open to the public with park admission of $5/car. Donations to the Friends of Grayton Beach State Park are appreciated. Grayton Beach State Park is located on Scenic Hwy. 30A between CR283 and Seaside.
