Summer Time Fishin's Great in Grayton Beach

June 30, 2014 by Larry Pentel

As I mentioned last report, this time of year I take lots of folks that have been fishing with me for many years. All the folks in the pics below have been coming every June for many years, some of 'em for over 15 years. While the weather does not cooperate every year for all of 'em it seems the fish always do when we get to go!

These guys come with a big group and book 5 or 6 days in a row. They got some Big Red Snappers on this trip.

Another long time bunch that fishes at least twice on vacation. Red Snappers, jacks, Scamp and a nice Black Tip on this morning 1/2 day.

These regulars are another "twice a trip" bunch. Snappers, Black Snapper, Kings, Sharks and Scamp going back to Arkansas.

The guys from my first pic on another day. They wanted some of that Shark action along with more Snappers and Scamp.

I have been able to watch these kids grow into great fisherman but Dad had the hot hook this morning. He got the Grouper and the 3 biggest Snappers. The Sharks got revenge though eating the back half of a Snapper that (would have been) well over 20 pounds.

Not only are the two fellows on the right regulars, we figured out we have been fishing together 30 years. They got a great board on this morning 6 hour trip.

The Red Snapper bite will still be the main draw for the next two weeks as they won't close till the night of July 14th. The BIG news is Gag (Black) Grouper open on the 1st of July so we should be able to add even a few more BIG fish to the braggin' board in the up coming weeks.

Get out there and catch 'em up!
