WaterSound Beach Club Party Features The Legendary J.C.'s on May 4th

May 2, 2012 by SoWal Staff

It all started with some sharkskin suits and Otis Redding tunes more than twelve years ago. Since that point, the members of the The Legendary J.C.’s have ridden a wave of press accolades and flocks of dedicated fans to a point where they are soaring.

The band visits South Walton to headline the South Walton Montessori Academy's 9th Annual Torre Rosa fundraiser on May 4th from 6-10pm. The event is open to all and promises soul, funk, rhythm and blues, and great vocals by the dunes at the WaterSound Beach Club. School volunteers work hard each year to create a unique event around the pool on the gulf.

Funds raised from the Torre Rosa party enable the school to award deserving families financial assistance. Last year the school gave $70,000 in assistance to local families. Over one-third of families receive some form of financial assistance.

This year's theme is “Craws for a Cause”. Boiled crawfish will be served along with other New Orleans-style dishes such as muffalettas, jambalaya and beignets. Opening for The legendary J.C.’s will be acts from local Ohana Records artists. Tickets are $50 and include food, beverages, and all the funky music you can handle.

In addition to a few surprises, silent auction items include jewelry, art, massage, vacations and gift certificates for many businesses in South Walton, Destin and Panama City. The “wine pull” is also a popular part of the program each year when fine wines up to $300 per bottle are pulled randomly from an exclusive collection for a small donation.

Torre Rosa is Italian for “Pink Tower”, a set of building blocks which is part of the foundation of learning for young children just starting out in Montessori education.

If you would like to attend Torre Rosa and support the non-profit community school please contact Beth Brock at 850-231-5955 to purchase a ticket. If you would like to donate an auction item or gift certificate you can call or visit the school any time from 9 a.m. -  3 p.m. at 101 Eden Gardens Road in Point Washington.
