While in South Walton, be sure to stray a bit off the beach and visit Eden Gardens State Park in Point Washington on Tucker Bayou. It's a beautiful slice of old Florida and the historic Wesley Mansion sits on the grounds of the park and is open for tours.
We can trace the Wesley family’s shared history with Tucker Bayou and the surrounding community to the late 1800s when they arrived in Point Washington around 1885.
This year’s Harvest Moon Celebration, in its 8th year, will present a series of thoughtfully-curated events including Harvest Moon Yoga, Harvest Moon Dinner and Harvest Moon Social Club over two days beginning Friday, September 26th through Saturday evening September 27th to benefit the Point Washington Medical Clinic (PWMC), a donation-based healthcare clinic serving patients regardless of their financial limitations.

A doctor’s “bedside manner” will not usually appear on their resume, but patients in need of a primary care physician would no doubt give Dr. Patsy Vargo and Hillary Glen, DNP, ARNP, “Five Stars” for their attentive approach to patient healthcare.
Visiting Eden Gardens State Park is tuning out the rest of the world and tuning in the “Real Florida”.
Trade in your worries and turn on to the splendor of SoWal's great outdoors, with some Florida history to boot. Just a bit north of the beach, Eden Gardens State Park is nestled in the woods of Point Washington, along the shores of Tucker Bayou and the Choctawhatchee Bay. It's the ideal spot to relax and have family fun.
Point Washington sits on the southeast corner of the Choctawhatchee Bay (chock-tuh-hatch-ee), covered in pine forests, flanked by grassy bayous and blessed with unspoiled beauty.
While only a few minutes from the beach, Point Washington is a small rural and woodsy area which can feel worlds away from the upscale beach houses of Scenic 30A. Point Washington possesses a charm all its own that needs to be experienced.
Our favorite SoWal State Park for taking a break from the beach is the spectacular Eden Gardens State Park on Tucker Bayou in Point Washington. Drive straight up Scenic Hwy 395 from Seagrove Beach, across Hwy 98 and you'll see the entrance up on the left.
