Hitting The Trail at Arnett's Gulfside Trailrides

When the SoWal crew went horsing around at Arnett’s Gulfside Trailrides, I purposely left my phone in the van. It was a wise decision. Horseback riding through the tall pines of Pt. Washington State Forest was more relaxing than a massage.

Unplugging, breathing in fresh, pine-scented air and being surrounded by a sea of green is the perfect way to rejuvenate. It’s also a great way to learn about a part of our unique SoWal environment.

South Walton is beautiful in ways that challenge the imagination. Word has gotten out about our sleepy collection of sophisticated-yet-casual communities whose prominent allure is the pristine white-sand beach and its complement – the glistening emerald-hued Gulf. Miramar Beach is The Best of Both Worlds

In our area, we are fortunate to have two premier beach destinations that merge almost seamlessly together. While they are neighbors, each offers a unique experience. The remarkable communities of which we speak are, of course, South Walton and Destin.

South Walton is comprised of a varied collection of “towns” that nestle predominantly along Scenic Highway 30A. Each offers their own interpretation of a life well lived by the beach.

Eastern Surfing Association Strong in SoWal

Did you know eleven-time world champion surfer Kelly Slater started surfing and honing his skills through the Eastern Surfing Association? The ESA is the largest amateur surfing association in the country. And our own local chapter of the North Gulf Florida region is the fastest growing district and second largest in the Southeast. Just a year and a half ago this chapter had sixteen members. That number is now closing in on 160!
