Did you hear that? South Walton has sounded a siren call for seafood lovers.

Thanks to local entrepreneurs Pamela and Tim Wellborn you can now find the bounty of the “world’s luckiest fishing village” just inside the welcoming doors of Destin Ice Market 30A in Inlet Beach.

The SoWal location of Destin’s famed seafood shop offers the same quality fresh Gulf seafood as the original, but is much larger with more room for amazing edibles, gourmet gifts and culinary delights.

The Grayton General Store is truly SoWal’s convenience store of choice.

“If you need it, they got it” seems to be the most popular opinion of store shoppers. Located at the corner of Scenic 30A and Hwy 283 in Grayton Beach, the iconic little grocery/deli/bike and watersport venue is a very popular place for all manner of shoppers.

Just south of Scenic 30A in the heart of South Walton lies the amazing enclave of WaterSound Beach. The wide open spaces of gulf front dunes with wooden boardwalks is the true SoWal experience of nature's finest.

Walking onto the grounds of the Hibiscus Coffee & Guesthouse in Grayton Beach is like taking a step back in time.

Dr. Mary Connor has really settled into the SoWal community with her veterinarian practice, Kindness Pet Hospital, going full bore on Scenic 30A.

In business since 2014, she is a happy camper with the addition of Dr. Kristyn Carr. There are a lot more folks moving to this area and that means more pets need tending to.

At the heart of Rosemary Beach lies its gem.

I often remind myself that we are not meant to be limitless. I had a particularly difficult time holding myself to this as I recently perused the exquisite collection of goods at the Alys Shoppe.

From extraordinary jewelry whispering my name, to the quintessential white v-neck t-shirt adorned with the classic Alys Shoppe logo –  I was ready to unharness my imaginary, limitless credit card.

The latest SoWal Real Estate Report includes all of South Walton real estate activity for July 2017, including statistics for single family homes, townhomes, and condos in Walton County, Florida.

Single family closed sales were up 11% for July compared to the same month last year (last month was also up an identical 11%). The number of pending sales for Walton County was down 1%. Inventory was down 3%, dropping for the 3rd month in a row. Median sales price was up a whopping 17.5%! Dollar volume was up a shocking 31.5% over last year at $194.8 Million.
