Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation Donates Record Breaking $2.3 Million to Local Children’s Charities

Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF) recently donated a record breaking $2.3 million to 14 Northwest Florida children’s charities. The private check presentation ceremony was held at LuLu’s Destin, marking the Foundation’s largest charitable distribution to date. 

The Community Stocks the Pantry in a Big Way for Local Children

The recent Food For Thought Outreach Santa Rosa Beach Pantry on August 20th, guests were greeted with food, fun, games, and more. However, this wasn’t any run-of-the-mill party. Guests came bearing different types of gifts - businesses, schools, and churches donated truckloads of food items, guests came with monetary and food donations, and others pledged their time to volunteer throughout the upcoming 2015-16 school year.

Seaside Wine Project Features Iconic Coleman Pavilion

The newest label from the Seaside wine collection features the Coleman Pavilion, the iconic obelisk on the beach in the center of Seaside, Florida. The Seaside rosé is the first of six varietals featuring the new label and is available now at Modica Market.

To celebrate, a special wine tasting will be held at Modica Market on Thursday, Aug. 27 from 5-7 p.m. Demetria McNeese of McNeese Distributing will be pouring and talking about the Seaside Wine Project family of wines.

 

Fall Eco Adventures in Walton County

The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) of Northwest Florida State College announces the fall session of its award winning eco-tourism initiative, Discover Roads Less Traveled: Eco-Adventures of Walton County.

“CBA’s eco-tours are intended to bring participants to local, off the beaten path environmental wonders,” states CBA’s eco-tour coordinator, Brandy Foley. “We hope that these tours will entice individuals to experience our local environment from a different perspective.” 

Music and Hearts Share the Stage at Williams Backyard Boogie Aug 28

Local musicians will bring their music and hearts together on stage at Williams Backyard Boogie on Friday, August 28 in memory of local musician Marcus Buckner. The memorial benefit jam will also feature a silent auction to include a painting "30A Angel Band" by local musician and folk artist Franko "Washboard" Jackson depicting local musicians who have passed away over the years and recently, including Marcus.
