Gulf Cemetery Centennial Celebration May 26, 2014

Gulf Cemetery in Santa Rosa Beach turns 100 this year. A centennial celebration will be held at 10 a.m. on May 26, 2014 with the unveiling of a marker at a Memorial Day observance with the designation of the site as a historical landmark by the State of Florida. The public is invited to attend the ceremony at the cemetery located on State Road 393 south. 

The Memorial Day event will include keynote remarks by Rev. Don Ullrich, Colonel, retired USAF. The Historic Marker will be unveiled by Michael Zimny, Specialist with the State of Florida Historical Council.

Bryan Kennedy Live at the REP May 22-25

Local country musician Bryan Kennedy is set to say “Wagons Roll” to the Emerald Coast this week as he prepares to join Garth Brooks on his upcoming World Tour.

Kennedy, who wrote and performed the 30A anthem “Life Shines” as well as penning hits for Garth Brooks, is giving audiences one last farewell at The REP in Seaside before joining the legendary country singer on the road.

Wyndham Vacation Rentals claimed the top spot in the Vacation Rental Company category for the second year running in Northwest Florida Daily News' "Finest on the Emerald Coast” competition. The competition asks community members to vote for the businesses they feel best represent the Emerald Coast across more than 160 categories.

Grayton Beach Kids Fishing Tournament May 10, 2104

Coastal Conservation Association (CAA) South Walton Chapter presents the 9th annual Grayton Beach Kid's Fishing Tournament on Saturday, May 10, 8am - 12pm.

The tournament is intended to promote the responsible use of our marine resources through recreational fishing. With a $15 entry fee, each child receives a tournament t-shirt, rod and reel, beach rod holder, bait and pompano rigs and weights.

The event begins at 8 a.m. on the back porch of the Red Bar and ends at noon, followed by a brief award ceremony for the winners of each division.
