The Seaside Half Marathon & 5K will look different in Februrary 2021! In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and prioritize the health and safety of our community and our participants, the Seaside School, Inc. and Seaside School Foundation have decided to move forward with a Virtual Half Marathon + 5K for the 19th annual event February 14 through 28, 2021. Registration is open!
We are lucky to have superb weather here in SoWal for much of the year, and being active is just a way of life. If you're looking to keep that beach bod throughout the seasons and want to mix it up with a new routine, here's our latest SoWal List with a few excellent ways to move and groove in South Walton.
The RUN/SUP New Year's Eve Race on 12/31/19 from 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM is comprised of a one-mile trail run and a one-mile stand up paddle board (SUP) competition, open to ages 7 and up, with awards to the top female & male!
The race starts from the Boathouse Paddle Club, RUN/SUP's flagship location in Watercolor, Florida. Competitors will transition from a trail run to a stand up paddle board on Western Lake.
There are lots of foot races that take place in SoWal, but few offer the communion with nature experienced by runners participating in the Grayton Beach Kous Kouri 8 & 4 Miler to be held this year on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Grayton Beach State Park. This run is a genuine TRAIL run beginning and ending near the main pavilion at the park.
Cooler days translate to “come get outside with us” for Tom Losee and his RUN/SUP team here in SoWal.
Cross training for a good cause is what RUN\SUP is all about and this time they are taking over Baytowne Marina.
The 8th Annual Alys Beach 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run takes place Labor Day weekend on Sunday, September 1 from 7am til 12pm.
Located along Scenic 30A, the course winds through the resort town and ends with an oversized obstacle course for kids of all ages. Music, food, and beverages will be available in the Alys Beach Amphitheatre at the after party. Proceeds from the 2019 race will benefit Children in Crisis. Registration is OPEN!
