Grayton Dunes BeachCam is a live webcam overlooking the Gulf of Mexico on the western edge of Grayton Beach, known as "New Grayton". So called because the eastern portion of Grayton Beach was the original town which was built during the latter half of the 19th century. "New Grayton" was platted and developed in the latter portion of the 20th century. Seen from the webcam, just past the last row of houses, is a field of dreams known as "Grayton Dunes", which is part of Grayton Beach State Park that wraps around the town. In the old days, generations of kids grew up in those dunes playing in natural hidey holes formed by dune pockets covered by oaks and magnolias to form the perfect forts, filled with imaginative stories of pirates and native Americans.
