Bud and Alley’s Pizza Bar and Trattoria shares a passion for good food, good people and good times.
The Seaside restaurant opened in 2009 to rave reviews, and it’s no wonder. Owner Dave Rauschkolb and his wife Carol, along with their friends, architect Leo Casas and wife Tara, spent weeks traveling through Italy researching pizzerias before designing and building Pizza Bar.
From traditional cooking techniques like the mixing of the dough and maintaining the proper flame in the wood-fired oven, to the handmade mozzarella, Pizza Bar proves that good food is all in the details.
Of course, the stars of the menu include more than a dozen different red and white pizza pie offerings. Each 11-inch wood fired pizza is made to order and topped with fresh local produce, along with imported meats and cheeses for the most authentic taste.
Classic Margherita is topped with fresh basil and mozzarella, and the Farmer’s Market pizza is a great showcase for fresh, seasonal vegetables sourced from local farms and fields.
While paying homage to their Italian roots, Pizza Bar also draws inspiration from the adjacent Gulf of Mexico and local farms. Wood Fired Olives and Fried Brussels Sprouts with hazelnuts, pancetta, chili flakes, and herbs make for savory snacks while you wait for your favorite pizza.
Artisan cheeses, fresh green salads, antipasto, bruschetta with locally made sourdough, soups, seasonal vegetables, and hearty pastas round out a menu that is complemented by a carefully curated list of handcrafted cocktails, wine and craft beer.
For the best view in SoWal, lounge on the shady terrace nestled in the dunes overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Belly up to the bar and feel free to linger over your favorite drinks. Dine in for a truly local experience or grab takeout at the walk-up window for pizza night at home.
Pizza Bar also hosts private events on the terrace. With a well thought out menu and a cozy space overlooking the water - right next to the iconic Coleman Pavilion in Seaside – it’s sure to be a memorable occasion.
