Goatfeathers Restaurant & Seafood Market

When Pat and Eleanor Miller opened Goatfeathers 28 years ago, they named it to reference this quote by author Ellis Parker Butler: "Goatfeathers are the distractions, side lines, and deflections that take a man's attention from his own business and keep him from getting ahead.”

In a place where it’s easy to get distracted by the beach and all the interesting people who pass through, the Millers have managed to avoid the distractions while providing SoWal with great food for nearly three decades.

Goatfeathers is open daily for lunch and dinner and offers an extensive lunch menu with truly something for everyone. Of course, fresh seafood is always the star of the show. The Blackened Grouper sandwich and 10 inch Po-boys are both standouts – Gulf fresh fish is prepared expertly with lots of love. Both are served with golden, crispy fries.

While casual lunch options are plentiful, Goatfeathers has also perfected the art of refined yet approachable dinner entrees. Their pan-broiled Red Snapper is a winner – the fish is served under a decadent white wine cream sauce with perfectly cooked bay scallops and shrimp.

Be sure to always start off your meal with an appetizer. Their homemade smoked tuna dip is a popular starter and is served alongside toasty crostini rounds. (Insider tip: they sell this same dip downstairs in the market, so be sure to grab a container on your way out!)

Of course Goatfeathers always encourages bringing the whole family and their Kids Menu offers lots of variety too: boiled or popcorn shrimp, chicken strips, cheeseburgers, pasta or pizza are just a few choices for your choosy munchkins.

And last but not least! You MUST save room for dessert when dining at Goatfeathers - or if you are too full be sure to order it to-go! Their warm New Orleans-style bread pudding is cloaked in the yummiest rum sauce around.

Goatfeathers Restaurant is located just east of Gulf Place on Scenic Hwy. 30A in Santa Rosa Beach and is open daily for lunch and dinner.
