We are Horsing Around at Alaqua on Saturday, April 23 at Alaqua Animal Refuge (914 Whitfield Rd.) in Freeport from 12pm til 4pm to celebrate a newly born colt and all of the wonderful rescue horses at the Refuge. The festival will feature photos, tours, arts and crafts, bake sale, old fashioned lemonade stand, art silent auction, and raffle for a 16” collegiate English Hunt Saddle (valued at over $500).
Raffle tickets can be purchased at the event or ahead of time from Alaqua Animal Refuge or Laura’s Pet and Horse Supply.
You can also help name Alaqua’s new baby Colt! The Alaqua team has narrowed it down to 5 names (Wasabi, Parsley, Sesame, Saffron, and Basil) and you can vote on which name you like best. Stop by the Refuge any time or come out for Horsing Around at Alaqua on Apr. 23 and put a donation in the jar with the name that you like most. We will announce the winning name at the end of the Horsing Around day..

Alaqua Animal Refuge, in partnership with American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), is holding several events to raise awareness for our rescue horses and donkeys. With the help of Laura’s Horse and Pet Supply in Niceville the goal is to fill a horse trailer full of goodies for all Alaqua's equine friends. Alaqua Animal Refuge will be collecting donations from April 22-April 26. All donations can be brought to Laura’s Pet and Horse Supply in Niceville between 8am and 4pm (1051 E John Sims Pkwy, Niceville, FL 32578).
