Well, I had my first bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, on thin sliced toasted Italian bread sandwhich of the season today. Nothing like a BLT made with real fresh drippy tomatoes from the farmers market. Dripped all over my T-shirt so I now have to soak it in oxiclean to get the tomato stains out, but it was well worth it. It's going to be BLT week at our house this week! The first BLT of the season is worth a good cry.

I just love it when you sob over wonderful food. this sandwich sounds so good, and I shall have to have one myself this week! I've had only a few BLTs this summer (had a wonderful old fashioned BLT at Don Pedro's for lunch one day, with fries!). I know jdarg is hooked on them - she made some BLT wraps for the beach one day - yummy!

Oh good, I'm not alone in my worship of BLTs. I never thought of a BLT wrap to bring to the beach. I will try that. Now if only there was a pasta carbonara wrap...

Oh, and I'll probably make a nice iced coffee to have with my BLT.

Why not? You can wrap just about anything!

I do. Love me my wraps.

Paula, must be on the same wavelength today. Picked my first ripened big boy mater today, but ate it on a roast beef wrap.

and don't laugh, but I know someone who makes pasta sandwiches from leftovers from Sunday dinner, and I laughed, but then tried it and it was good.

:bang: I'm starving.....a big juicy BLT with vine ripe tomatoes, the juice running out the corners of my mouth mixed with Hellman's mayonnaise. Yummmmmmm I can fantasize can't I?

Mango as a child my sisters and I used to make spaghetti sandwiches the next day (leftovers from dinner) on soft white bread! Still would eat one if I could.

Now I'm really hungry.

Hmmm, spaghetti wraps? After I'm off my BLT thing on thin sliced Italian bread (in a week or two), then I'll try some wraps. I eat them with the basic stuff in them, but I don't get too creative. But you're tempting me with the wrap thing (but not the pasta wrap). I used to eat sweet relish sandwiches as a kid -- nothing but sweet relish between two pieces of white bread.

Today will be another BLT for lunch. But it's only 6:20 AM and I'll have to wait 5 hours (no, I won't have a BLT for breakfast because I'm going to have my yogurt, granola and blueberries because I'll feel better about having the BLT later if I start the day right!). The nice thing about making BLTs at home rather than having them in a restaurant is that you can put 4 or 5 slices of good bacon on it rather than a skimpy two slices.
