OK, what's your special recipe for the BLT wraps JDarg? Sounds like they're a hit.

Tootsie, it's only a few foods that can make me cry and the setting has to be right, too. With the BLT, I was eating it in a nice outdoor reclining chair facing the garden which is in full bloom. It really was a special moment. And it was my very first BLT of the season. Usually I only get teary when eating wonderful food with family/friends. But just me and the BLT alone in the garden... sigh....that was an exception!

Paula,

Go to the Fresh Market in Destin and get some of their applewood smoked bacon.

It is a bonus for the BLT!

Well, I had my first bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, on thin sliced toasted Italian bread sandwhich of the season today. Nothing like a BLT made with real fresh drippy tomatoes from the farmers market. Dripped all over my T-shirt so I now have to soak it in oxiclean to get the tomato stains out, but it was well worth it. It's going to be BLT week at our house this week! The first BLT of the season is worth a good cry.

   Paula how about a Soft Shell Crab BLT.   ....I wonder if I could get these on the menu?:clap:

Soft shell crab LT (CLT?) sounds really good. I'm a traditionalist so I'd have to try both sandwiches side-by-side or simply have one of those wild and crazy days when I throw tradition to the wind! Maybe it would have some other kind of spread rather than mayo to make the CLT extra special/unique. But the tomatoes still have to drip down your shirt to have that first-tomatoes-of-the-season effect. (In Michigan where I am, the tomatoes are just coming in).

Oh man I am so hungry and this thread is killing me. I love BLT's. I have the tomatoes, have to run to the store for bread. Is it too early for lunch?
