I'll have to plan a healthy lunch soon. of course we'll have to eat chicago italian bread and butter.

That can't be in the Mayo cookbook.

So far today I have had:

Oatmeal
1 apple
watermelon (big bowl)
2 large handfuls of peanuts
bowl of tortilla soup, with chips

Guess I am pucked for the day, huh? This should have been enough food for the whole day, not just before lunch!

We picked up a pile of boiled peanuts from the farmstand on the north side of the 331 bridge and ate them all the way home to Indiana, listening to bluegrass music on the radio.

One piece is good. But hard to stick too ... bread is my weakness, as are french fries. It is so hard to eat just 10 fries. :sosad:

Depends on how many chips. ;) Don't worry, you looked great in your prom dress.

Toots, the 30 pounds came from 12 pounds I couldn't lose after baby No. 3, and 18 I gained in my 20s. I now weigh a bit less than I did at 24, however it is not distributed the same. Also, my somewhat chubby face has become angular and ... a bit more saggy than I imagined! :yikes:

Maintenance is a work in progress, and you have to figure out what works for you. Cutting down on the white flour, smaller portions, not eating my kids' food and strength training are what works for me.

I am not disciplined enough to do a "diet" that actually ends. It is too complicated. I also need to get in the habit of trying to reach fitness goals, because otherwise I get bored, forget about it and end up eating whatever I want.

I started WW last year (Jan07) I wasn't losing quickly and got frustrated and stopped. I have all the books, charts etc...I will probably resume that after my SpecialK loss of an inch in 2 weeks.:D

I've also done South Beach and probably been the most successful with that. I had a real energy problem without the carbs.

Today I found a really good station on tv that does a yoga/aerobics workout everyday at noon. I really got a good workout today and then walked a mile or so. You wouldn't believe what sunshine and warmth does for me. It's the biggest motivator.

I'm happy to have support here!!!

Today I've had:

Coffee
a bowl of cereal
snack bar
lots of water

getting ready to have lunch...a yummy meal bar.

Dinner tonight will be something on the grill and veggies.

I swear I lived on carbs before...I love bread and pasta...

you said it. carb sisters!!!

anyway, I don't like the looks of your menu above. you know your metabolism will slow to a crawl without plenty of healthy foods. we're talking it takes some effort to get really started on a good eating plan - planning, lists, shopping, chopping, cooking.

but I see you are doing the cereal plan for a while first - okay, well we all have to have some way to get started. my intake for today is worse than yours:

total raisin bran cereal, oj, coffee
some water - not nearly enough
soy protein shake with fruit.
2 small cookies:roll:

gotta get something good tonight, probably leftover roasted chicken with roasted veggies, brown rice.

I was thinking of "juicing" for a few days, with like one real meal of lean meat or seafood and veggies.

The menu plan is so you can eat anything you want for dinner.

Tonight it was sirloin steak and a cole slaw made with cucumbers and red, green, orange and yellow peppers. Mmm.

I only plan on staying on this for one or 2 weeks. I have to say the reason why I did it was because it's so easy. You don't have to think and worry about food all the time. That was the frustration with WW. All I did was worry and think about what I was going to eat next. I'm not the best planner and I don't like cooking much.:D Thankfully, it's grill season.

OL, I hear ya about the lack of energy without carbs. I am on South Beach Phase 1 (I did cheat and have a gorgonzola burger at Flip-Flops on Saturday). This diet pretty much limits me to lean meats, low-fat milk/cheese/yogurt, certain nuts, veggies (except carrots and potatoes), eggs, no fruit, no carbs. Now it's time for my yearly hemoccult test. That means no red meat, raw fruit or raw vegetables, or Vitamin C for three days before the testing and during the testing which will also take roughly three days. I can't even have a flippin' salad! So today I had yogurt for breakfast, a piece of grilled chicken for lunch, and some deli turkey and low-fat cheese for dinner -- too lazy to cook veggies with hubby gone.

I plan to stay on Phase 1 until I lose the weight I gained since Mom broke her hip, had surgery, etc. I was on the road all of the time with no time to cook, so we ate a lot of pizza and Mexican food.

I am so hungry I could eat my arm off.

:lolabove:I hear ya...I miss my night time tv snacking. So I'm sowalling on the laptop while watching the Bachelor.:D

Phase 1 is rough...remember that faux french toast recipe I posted a long time ago? It was probably my favorite SB thing.
