Yes, the sea ice is better than predicted - because nature reacted in a drastically different manner than we have logged in recorded history. I got frostbite in '79 (baby's first Christmas) and this Sunday - doesn't mean that no changes have occurred.

You can post links, but don't be so stupid as to think that we aren't massively (and detrimentally) affecting both the planet, our environment, and our weather. One year's good crop o' sea ice doesn't change that.

But it's about me, now, today. What happens in the future doesn't matter. Stewardship? Don't be silly. Gore's a fraud, and my car has a full tank of cheap gas. What's the problem?

As the Okaloosa-Walton 2008 Recycle Democrat of the Year, I am all about keeping our environment squeeky clean and have the 'hardware':roll: to back-up my concerns.

However, there is an increasing amount of data that contradicts the man made global warming theory, and to ignore this and spend tons o' money (or increase deficit spending if you prefer) to fix a problem that may not exist is folly.

Scooter-one good year of sea ice may not prove anything, but neither does the active 2005 hurricane season suggest man (or woman) is heating this planet as those who agree with you often assert.

Say what you want, but most of these reports are showing time spans of 20-30 years. Climate wise that's a fraction of a blip on a time line. What's wrong with erring on the side of caution? If a bunch of sea ice melts at once and ocean levels rise do you really want to replay NOLA on your roof?

EXACTLY! The global warming alarmists don't seem to understand that the climate does change, and did so long before Noah failed to load the dinosaurs and unicorns on the ark:roll:

The alarmists are up in arms because the current swings and drastic changes haven't been shown in history. Check out the artic research labs at FSU. ;-)

The problem is that the polar bear's habitat is being drastically impacted by man's selfish and greedy invention of the internal combustion engine. It's not silly to wish to turn back the tide on this dark period of our history by leveling substantial taxes on gasoline and/or milage so that the automobile, airplane, motorcycle, ship, boat, jet ski, scooter, et al are rendered economically unaffordable to the masses and we can return to horse drawn buggies and dirt roads and the schooner. Oh the nostalgia of it all and good stewardship to boot. Seeing as future travel is likely to be long and boring, can I power my sound system off the horse's flatulence?
